I was thinking of our other centre.

We don’t have a new CEO.Big-al wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:30 amWith our new CEO knowing more about our he local club and development structures than Cunningham, then I think we need to say farewell to Bryn.Dharper wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 9:24 am I’ll happily say it.
If we are effectively going to be playing a side heavily filled with pups, so be it.
It’ll likely be the closest thing to a home grown UR side for yrs.
Non CC qualified, ok….a yr in the challenge cup with pups might not be a bad thing for their development. I don’t know re participation money, but would it really hit attendance? Personally I doubt it. A home grown team of pups might just be enough to stop some fans apathy to the shitshow that is UR. The non rugby crowd really won’t know better, and actually there’s some good teams in it.
I’ll happily keep Murphy. He knows the pups, he will hopefully develop them. He’s hungry, and also hope now DH is sat in the chair - we may get some assistance as he’ll have his hands full. That fact Murphy is in place is already 1 thing less to deal with.
He says he is in charge of re-signing contracts and squad development. Everything hing he touches turns to

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Movements reported by the42:
https://www.the42.ie/article.php?id=6361363
Ed Byrne leaving Leinster, moving to either Ulster or Munster.
Also, Ireland u20s Jack Murphy (out-half, son of Richie) and Wilhelm de Klerk and Sam Berman (centres) apparently joining Ulster (presumably the academy) in the summer.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
That was my take. I don't think the pitch helped.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Byrne as the replacement for Kitshoff is such an enormous downgrade, we need a better LH to be our starter, not Leinster's 5th choice.
Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Won't happen, too soon for Byrne. Bryn prefers his props to have been mediocre at best in Ireland then spend some time in lower foreign leagues so we all forget how rubbish they are. Then he'll sign them.earl the beaver wrote:Byrne as the replacement for Kitshoff is such an enormous downgrade, we need a better LH to be our starter, not Leinster's 5th choice.

Rich Freeman
@FreemanrugbyJPN
According to reports & sources set to be number of new coaches in JRLO Div 1 next season
P. Hewat (Ricoh) reported to be joining Leicester
J. Ackermann (D-Rocks) said he is looking to leave Japan to return to SA
My understanding is F. Ludeke (Kubota) will take over at Ulster

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Forwards or head coach?
Hmm…not for me though if head coach.
A proven track record with young player development a must.
The knowledge of young ire players a bonus.
I wouldn’t have an issue re rest of coaching dept frankly, no one has covered themselves in glory.
Contract buy outs could be an issue, I expect most end 24/25 season, so expect change then.

It is only a rumour firstly, secondly never heard of the guy but if his wikipedia article is accurate, he is very experienced.Dharper wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:46 am Forwards or head coach?

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Surely experience as a head coach of a senior club is the must? We need a steady hand over next couple of years as these young lads get integrated in to the team. Which is why I'd have serious doubts over Murphy or someone like Payne.
Personally I'd rather have an entirely new coaching ticket (or as many as possible) running their eye over that squad and picking based on merit and how lads are training.
