A little 'X' at the top left hand corner

My work computer wont let me see what is in the top left hand corner of every new page - just an outline box and a little red 'x'. The suspense is killing me!!!! What am I missing??? we have a right to know!!!!

Don't lose any sleep it's a blank image placeholder, that needs an image that is not there at present, just has not got fixed yet since the crash, only shows in IE not Firefox anyway, one of the problems of building webpages for both browsers.
It used to have the phpbb logo but I deleted it when site got running again if you really must know.

I used to use skins in the past to try and make boards look more 'work related'; sadly I can access very few boards from the office now, and have taken up doing-what-they-pay-me-for to pass the time instead.
