It was a happy ending to a long and emotional day. I'm sure George was looking down on Musgrave Park and smiling. The lads did him proud.

In one corner of our mind it remains 1969:

Frosted pavements, icy breath, yet our hands thaw

In the thrill of chasing a ball under streetlights,

Voices in the dark calling the names of Best and Law.

A drudge of decades have clogged our arteries,

Yet no matter what occurred, what we have become,

When we see again his feint, his sheer artistry

Thousands of us are instantaneously made young.

I spoke to a member of the intimate Best family circle earlier today and was told that all of the expressions of symapthy both here and in the province and indeed the world in general was very precious to them and they found it of great comfort.

Did you read it the Tele that Justin Harrison went over to Mark McCall in the press conference? and told him that one was for George Best last Saturday night.

Minutes applause would be more appropriate trust me the team management are having or have had a meeting to decide. Hope they do the decent thing.
