Re: Qualifying Rugby

The Larne result today proves what most know that Qualifying 3 needs a radical make over. You usually have a couple of very good teams a few in the middle and many that are just cannon fodder and that is good for no one in particular the teams that are on the end of a hammering most weeks. How dispi...

Re: Qualifying Rugby

I accept all that has been said and agree that the correct thing to do would be to complain to the branch but that would be pointless. The club and the players would totally deny any payments and that would be that. All I was trying to say is that with certain clubs this matter of payments has been g...

Re: Qualifying Rugby

Was a neutral at the Grosvenor Larne game . It is not that Larne are so bad but that Grosvenor are so strong . The Larne team is very young but is one for the future. They hammered Letterkenny two weeks ago and I understand that some of their usual firsts were playing for their seconds on Saturday. ...

Re: Ulster.live

To me its all very simple.A bad coaching decision. Humph should never have been taken off. If he had stayed on and Shifty had been the kicker from the start I believe we would have won this match easily. Humph has lost his confidence as a kicker and the failure to put away points knocked the heart o...

Re: Ospreys Ulster attendance

No snipe, a bigger stadium half full would not have anything like the Ravenhill atmosphere or be as intimidating to visiting teams.Attendances would not drop but it would probably look as if they had. As far as attendances at European Cup games for the Ospreys is concerned I have been at some of tho...

Ospreys Ulster attendance

Technically not on subject but I see that the attendance last night was only 7000 and the lack of atmosphere in the largely empty stadium was clear to see. Give me a packed Ravenhill any time to a large modern stadium at least three quarters empty. I really do wonder where the Ospreys get their mone...

Re: ML- Ulster v Edinburgh - your prediction

The same team must start. Also credit where credit is due. Young Hump is starting to look the part and was at times brilliant. However should we consider giving the kicking duties to Schif?

Re: To the neigh sayers...

Agree with you Lurgan Lad. In particular I thought ref Lewis was his usual totally inconsistent self.He frequently missed off sides and blew up Ulster for crooked ball at the line out and failed to punish Ospreys for doing the same.

Re: Dragons v Ulster

Sorry guys but I think this resting of players has become a total farce. What young rugby player requires three months to recover from perhaps three or four matches. I,m sure the guys would all love to be up and playing again so let them be free to do so unless THEY deciode otherwise.

Re: Ulster v Viadana

I thought Jamie Smith was a revelation as an attacking full back. I accept we were up against as poor a team as I have seen at Ravenhill but if Jamie continues to show this sort of form he could eventually become a permanent feature. His fielding of high ball was faultless ,his kicking excellent and...

Re: Andy Kyriacou

The match programme for Friday says he is Irish qualified. He was great when with Munster on loan and his prevoius team Saracens were sad to lose him to Ulster.

Re: Andy Kyriacou

Very impressed by Andy and he really looks the part.I think a place in the Irish set up is not too far away. He seemed to be really enjoying the game and the Ravenhill fans.

Re: New Stand seats

It seems to me that you've got it in one Red Hand Hero. What you say is precisely why I started this posting in the first place. Would it not have been more sensible to have built a larger stand that could have accomodated more supporters. Personally, I have been a terrace man all my life but my fri...

New Stand seats

I hope I am wrong but from a viewing of the seat selection there seems to be a very poor take up of seats. I would suspect that only around 10% have been sold. Are those remaining to be sold on a match by match basis? If the price is too high I can see it largely empty except for European Cup games.
