Re: our views on the maze

o personally dont really care where the stadium is built, what does concern me is the size, the proposed 42000 is far to big for this wee province, and a 20-25k would be much more realistic, at least there would be some chance of actually filling it....sadly them folks on th hill seem to think its t...

Re: Ulster v Worcester

Marshall tackled his heart out, took down players twice his size that had already pummelled through our back row. His passing was quick, sometimes erratic, but on the whole hit his man everytime. i would like to see him given a few games on the trot gain some consistency, and boss is certainly no sh...

Re: Ulster v Worcester

we are missing leadership and more importantly some streetwise players, we have pseudo enforcers in Matt and ryan, but we really need that little bit of barsteward with savvy. Ulster have been easily bullied for some time, but that doesn't seem to have changed. Plus our error count was massive!

Ulster v Worcester

just back from ravers, a very poor game, ref was way out of his depth, I genuinely have never seen worse game management in my life. However, I'm a little concerned after that performance, our error count was astronomical, and I can only pick out two performance of note. Paul Marshall punches way ab...

Re: Magners adopts playoffs from 2009/2010

now they just have to sort out the ERC qualification malarkey and allow it to be the top 6 or so, regardless of what nation they are from and we'll have ourselves a credible league

Re: Ulster v Reds The Pictures

all in all a good run out. Diack looks the business, anderson had a shocker in the second half, and ithink Henry is by far a better 6. as for filo... that boy tackles like a demon. simple to the hip slide to the knees kinda stuff, and none of this chest slapping bellix that seems to be afflicting ou...

Re: which young player do you think will break through

hes not young, but i think we'll see the emergence of Neil Hanna this year. Hes a very underrated player, and does the basics of hooker well, while often being the first to hit the ruck. Watch this space!

Re: Captain?

ah bless...theres none so blind as those who will not see! Neil Best will never be a captain, he lacks the top 3 inches required. He would have been the last player to unite a disfunctional team last season, as he was key in perpetuating that disfunction!

Re: Whats the expectation for Ulster this year..

mid table respectability, pushing to top 4 if luck is on our side, home wins in the ERC. But most importantly a gelling of the players, more experience for our young squad, and a management of unrealistic expectations from the fansThis is the start of a a multi season plan, and we need to allow the ...

Captain?

Is Rory captain material? IN my opinion we lack any serious leadership qualities in the Ulster squad, and Carlo seems to be the only natural leader out there. Rory is too softly spoken, and while he leads by example, he doesn't inspire, cajole etc during game time. He was skipper last year when all ...
