Re: Ulster in Financial Trouble

GAA is an amateur sport, where crowds can assemble as long as SD and other protocols are adhered too. I've attended 2 rugby matches in the last 5 days where there was over 200 people at each. Outdoor bar service was also available. This is where the short term of live sport involvement lies... go su...

Re: Professional rugby

The pro game is on the verge of becoming a busted flush, but the CVC type package may save it, and at the same time morph clubs into sustainable franchises, Ulster are not a top table side and may suffer as a result. that said the top end of the sport is a business and anyone that thinks otherwise i...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Jack Regan started for Otago in the Mitre 10 at the weekend, it'll be interesting to see how he develops down there. Maybe they've seen something our academy didnt!

Re: Pro 14 Final vs Leinster, Sept 12th.

They were better all over the park, our mantra is fight for every inch, there's is obviously don't give a fecking millimetre, and they didn't. we still haven't developed a plan b. all we can do is learn from a phenomenal rugby club. Fair play to them!

Re: Ulster vs Leinster at the Aviva 29/8/20

The soft underbelly has been exposed yet again. Limited game plan...pass, bosh, recycle, pass bosh, knock on is not effective. watching teams like Exeter and Leinster, it is easy to see how far off the mark we are, and this has nothing to do with 'Imports.' We just arent savvy and hard enough and d...

Re: Ulster vs Leinster at the Aviva 29/8/20

Elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about we’re missing out on half of our potential young players by not kicking and screaming our way into nationalist schools to play rugby. The odd school has given it a go but most are reluctant. With the success of the Irish rugby team recently this ...

Re: Ulster vs Leinster at the Aviva 29/8/20

Ulster's failings are ultimately of Ulster's making, it's not anyone else's fault that the players we're producing aren't of the same standard as Leinster's. agreed, and foolishly we are still tied to the school's system and clubs are widely ignored, sadly too many players are stopped from playing ...

Re: Ulster V Connacht at the Aviva Sunday 23rd August

poor performance, Connacht played a lovely brand of rugby, always looking for space rather than faces (bar Bundee of course) while we played pass, bosh, recycle, pass, bosh, turnover...repeat ad infinitum... hopefully we'll see improvement next week, as this side isnt as bad as they were yesterday!

Re: Any word on the Academy?

ROD is evidently a talent who has been overlooked for whatever reasons at Ulster, however surely if he was seen as the top quality operator as some here say he is, surely other teams would have come knocking. Maybe the pros know more than we do.
