Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
I would certainly agree Bazzaj that he does go into contact quite upright and I have wondered why someone of his experience should adopt this posture.Having said that I think that he must always have played that way under a number of different coaches and if it was seen as a major disadvantage then ...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
I will be absolutely delighted if Pedrie is staying. I think he is one of the main reasons why we now fear the physicality side of the game from no one. He is the sort of guy you want 'in the trenches' with you when the going gets hot and he has a lot of skill with it, as we saw against Leicester. H...

Re: Excuses or reality?
At one of the meetings with the management earlier this season Dr. Humph said that our salary cap was £4M which included £200,000 for the Academy and that we had no salary advantage over the AP teams. I think Munster and Leinster may have a little more and Connacht have substantially less though the...

Re: Polll: UAFC MOTM V Tigers
I thought Wannenberg had his best game ever in an Ulster shirt. He looked as if he was injured a couple of times during the match as he hobbled about at times but he was great. There were no even average performances in that Ulster team last night, they were all superb.

Re: Ulster v Tigers - TEAM
I am always nervous before big games like this and I don't like to see the chest beating which takes place sometimes between rival supporters which seems to me to reduce the arguments to school playground level bravado. I try to reassure myself by recalling previous big game results which turned out...

Re: RP & Small Paul contracts.
This is terrific news for Ulster fans that Ruan has signed up for another two years. Leaving aside the financial and family advantages (alluded to in other posts and threads) it is a vote of confidence in what Ulster is trying to achieve. The money becomes irrelevant once the contract is signed and ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster
Would agree 100% that when small p has to shoulder some responsibility his game leaves a lot ot be desired. Made a complete horrocks of the quick penalty when he knocked on, also threw an awful pass out of defence when ,as Gusher said, he would have done better to put the boot to it up the field and...

Re: As it stands...
Now that we have a pack that can compete with any other I would like to see the rolling maul, the drive from the five metre lineout, and the scrum in the oppositions 22 as potent weapons which we can use to devestating effect any time we threaten the opposition try line. I just hope the coaches pay ...

Rocky, I am not an economist but I do take a keen interest in matters economic and my son is a Business Analyst in Financial Services and we discuss economics frequently. You ask about Cameron's motives and all I can say as far as he goes is that he recently gave a speech to a gathering of financier...

Re: What annoys people????
I think the Public v private pension arguments are designed to get us at each others throats. If you want the facts just google it, but the point that I want to make is that if the rich paid their share of the tax burden then we could all have a decent pension, themselves included. One of the main p...

Re: 1F Fit for Action
That was Danielli, gannonman, who slipped off the tackle on Nataitachi and allowed him in for their try. He may have been hampered a bit by another Ulster player crashing into him as he attempted to make the tackle. He also failed miserably under the first Clermont up and under by actually turning hi...

Re: Nerves = shot
What a game! What an atmosphere! What a competition! Surely the Heineken Cup must be the best rugby competition in the world. The fans are closer to their teams than the international sides in the 6Nations or the World cup. That was another unbelievable performance from Ulster today after the junk t...

Re: Dragons v Ulster
Ulster seem to suffer from mental fragility when away from home. They have it at home sometimes too but the crowd can often help to turn it around for them and they reassert themselves as a result. I am concerned that they seem to be unable to learn from the previous match's high penalty count even ...
