Re: Big Nick

Always gave us go forward ball, and at the time we didn't have too many good ball carriers in the pack.

Re: What are you watching?

Biggest pain in the ass was finding the easiest way to watch it. Now TV doesn't appear to work on an Amazon stick, have a PS3 that haven't used for ages and it didn't work so no luck there. Eventually had to settle for viewing it through a BT Youview/Freeview box. Because our TV isn't particularly s...

Stick to GOT and don’t waste your time on the others.
Thanks, have watched 3 already, pretty good so far, only another 70 episodes to go!
Love Ray Donovan, and also Gomorrah if you have ever seen it, plenty to get our teeth into. Was hoping to have Love/Hate on it but no luck.

Re: What are you watching?

Just cancelled Netflix and signed up to Nowtv, mainly as the missus couldn't find much on Netflix she fancied watching. Now have a good load of series to watch, Game of Thrones (never watched it), The Affair, Succession, Ray Donovan, Chernobyl so will keep us busy for a good while.

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20

Very good read, and certainly a few guys in the academy that should step up. Can't believe between Warwick and McCall they have 183 Ulster caps, hopefully Reid displaces one of them shortly.

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Tend to agree with therealspratt, Marshall's pass was generally weak and inaccurate from memory, decent player with great heart but you would hope there are at least 5 better scrum halves in Ireland at any one time.

Re: Any word on the Academy?

ROD is evidently a talent who has been overlooked for whatever reasons at Ulster, however surely if he was seen as the top quality operator as some here say he is, surely other teams would have come knocking. Maybe the pros know more than we do. Did wonder that myself, even just a 2nd division team...

Re: 'It's the Pro14's fault'

Interesting article, and I imagine given he has done the research I imagine he would be well equiped to answer specific examples. I wonder how it applies to our academy though, we haven't been able to bring through local players that well for years whether through the stable years with Ruan, Muller ...

Re: Ulster in Financial Trouble

Think really for Ulster it is a case of trying to live within our means in the medium term. The Paddy/Stuart debacle I imagine will impact the finances much longer than covid 19, but both a large short term shock and a more longer term shock have to have effects on the finances. If the IRFU are aski...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

That is pretty impressive I have to say, not easy caught and a constant threat with ball in hand eases it for those outside him.

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20

Feel like he will be blocking young talent coming through i.e. Burns, Mads, Lowry and Johnston is at least one too many out halfs of similar level. Not sure what he is like as a centre or potentially full back. On the plus side he is a good kicker, Irish qualified and a decent player, I think the ma...

Re: 6N 2020

Agree with what other's have posted, was really surprised the double tackle on Biggar wasn't reviewed. Was also a game in which I noticed so many players from both sides being held on the ground so they couldn't have any impact on the next phase. Lot of dark arts on display indeed.

Re: 6N 2020

Decent match so far, England's defence is ferocious with little interest in whether it is legal or not.

A few players will clearly need a bit of redemption after the Ospreys match, more intensity, discipline and sense required!
