Re: Squad for next year

Is there a possibility of a short term/loan type deal? Such as the American fella whose name escapes me at the minute. Would the IRFU sanction such a deal for a NIQ player for the first 2/3 months of the season to allow cover for players at RWC and then for their recuperation period after. There wou...

Re: Mexicans v Ulster

I'm not sure LTHG. I appreciate these guys are professional and are fully committed to every match but there is an element of playing on the edge and bringing that little bit extra aggression onto the pitch which may not be present due to the fact they play in the final he following week. But in tot...

Re: Mexicans v Ulster

I think the most important aspect with regards the outcome of this match will be how the Leinster players approach it. If they come out apprehensive with one eye on the the heiny then if we can play to a high tempo and bring the physicality we showed in the first 60 mins at MK then I think we can do...

Re: Squad for next year

I thought the bambry thing had been knocked on the head? Is he not away back overseas? Also to my knowledge bambry has no experience at magners level, so would we be any better off with him rather than blooding Jackson, Marshall or McKinney?

Re: Pienaar heading back to SA for short pre World Cup stint

I think the really Ulster have their hands tied with this one. Ultimately Ulster are prob under no obligation whatsoever to allow Ruan to return to SA to play for another club ... BUT ... If we were to veto the move we would probably be kissing goodbye to any chance of Ruan extending his stay beyond...

Re: Squad for next year

No but it's not the 15 that we could put out that concerns me. It's the team we put after the injuries kick in. Someone posted elsewhere that at any one time something like 20% of players are injured. It's the depth of our squad that may be an issue.

Re: Squad for next year

It appears to me that during RWC and recuperation time our squad is going to be very inexperienced. Unlike Munster and Leinster who are going to be have guys with international experience not selected for Ireland we are going to be starting our campaign with a very inexperienced bunch. These guys wi...

No probs Boo. If you are aware of anywhere else he may be visiting let me know. Likewise as Shem asked, if there is a recording I would be interested. Cheers

Ruan Pienaar giving a talk at church??

Somebody mentioned in the lead up to the dragons match that Ruan was giving a talk at a church on Sunday (today). I have had a skim through but can't find the post. If anybody knows any details of time, place etc could you let me know. Cheers

Re: Squad for next year

On the one hand I agree but even from an Ulster perspective it is good for our players to be exposed to the world cup experience!! The whole experience stands our players in good stead going forward, so while short term it's not great for ulster I think long term we benefit!!
