Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Have to wonder if Ulster are going to bring anyone in this season. With the contracts up of some senior players I can't see us having much money to spend as well as keeping them. So, with that in mind, what positions do we need to sign and who is available? Is there a space for another NIQ? (don't ...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Backs - most urgent need is a back up 9 of a better standard. - other key area is for Dan to determine who is the back up to Burns and give them plenty of exposure. Burns has played well this season but he is becoming indispensable for the wrong reasons (ie there is no-one else) rather than because...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

I think that Ulster have three promising 9’s coming through in Finlay, McKee and Doak and it will be interesting to see how they develop. I suspect that Ulster Rugby are well aware what is in the pipeline hence the reluctance to buy in a Journeyman 9. IMO we have one and he’s a few years off yet. D...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Pieter Steph du Toit. World class 7. That would be enough to win silverware. He's a blindside. Wrong actually, there is no such thing as open/blindside in SA as they play left/right. So sometimes he will be playing openside and others blind during the same match. Would love PSDT but lets face it, i...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Also, what positions do we have no youngsters/quality coming through? Im struggling to answer this question which is a good thing. Last thing we want to do is bring in an NIQ and have them struggle to get a starting place and then hold back an academy prospect/young player. Bryn must have a 3 year ...

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20

My gut says Jack and Jordi will stay. I doubt there will be any NIQs coming in but they are allowed to sign NIQs in two certain positions. Warwick and McCall contracts will depend on McGrath but personally think they are better giving Callum Reid opportunities. John Andrew seems to have fallen out o...

Re: Bath v Ulster

I reckon Ludik comes onto the wing, and Gilroy or Faddes to 23, I think Ludik is our best bet to try to contain Raka.. Up front I personally would start AOC, I thought he had a class match against Bath, Treads on the bench for a bit of impact. Presumably Warwick on the bench at 17 EOS Herring Moore...

Re: Bath v Ulster

What has happened to this forum this season. There seems to be no enthusiasm, no interest, apathy reigns. I do not contribute tbh but have allways enjoyed looking in regularly for the wit, energy etc for our boys. Whats up ?? Not sure. Forum was down and maybe they just haven't returned. No tappyta...
