Re: Connacht Watch

Question for porterbelly or any of the Connacht lads - how many NIQs will Connacht have next season? By my reckoning they have 5 this season - Ah You (replacing Morris), Upton, Taylor, Nikora and Ta'auso. If you're signing Heynecke, Stanley, Vainikolo and Naoupu for next season, which of them are m...

Can't believe that one has legs.

Never said there was anything to it. You do need a flanker.

Didn't know he was so hated in Ulster

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Just throwing it out there, might be unlikely as he has 2 years left on his current contract and may no longer register as high profille, but could Neil Best be brought back to provide competiton for the openisde berth ? It's unlikley to be a player from another province. Only player I think of who'...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

I'm only speculating, the title does say 'Transfer Rumours'. Carr contract being cancelled would suggest Ulster have someone lined up, no?

Ulster are definitely after a high profile Irish player. That much is true.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

so within the course of a couple of weeks, Carr has been: first going to Wasps; then coming here on a 1 yr deal; then being released from that agreement because we want to sign an as-yet-unnamed Irish qualified back instead; and now rumoured to be signing for Leinster after all (according to their ...

Shirt sales ? It's not soccer, you don't buy a rugby shirt to get the name and number on the back.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

John Muldoon is this afternoon being given the red carpet treatment by Templeton Robinson; looking around a number of 3 bedroom properties in the south belfast area. surely if he's looking to break into the ireland side, playing heineken cup rugby and establishing himself in a back row of Ulster's ...

Re: Am I the only one a little disappointed at the stadium c

Not the fact we are getting free money, but rather there wont be a brand spanking new Belfast City Centre stadium for both footy and rugby. GAA pitches dont work with the others so I would exclude them. Having been to Cardiff and experienced how good the atmosphere in the ground and the city are on...

Re: One New Departure

Can't see why McCrea, Anderson, and NOC would be eager for a move back to Ulster. They've been deemed to surplus to requirements and are being cut loose. For the love of God, it's time for them to move on and focus on playing for Connacht and being the best they can be and prove Ulster that they wer...

Re: One New Departure

If he's as enthusiastic next season as he is in the video it won't be long til he's playing AIL. He hasn't a notion of getting into the team unless he gets the head down and works hard, with Muldoon at 6 and Naoupu at 8 next season , Browne superb at 6 all season , Johnny O'Connor revistalised, and ...

Re: 2 new signings

we seem to be getting very pally with connacht eh? No news on Carr? All gone very quiet on that front. We seem to be getting your cast offs. McCrea, NOC and Anderson appeared surplus to requirements. Hopefully they can make an impact with us. If all our back rows are fit, Anderson won't see a whole...

Re: 2 new signings

TJ Anderson has signed a 2 year deal at Connacht and Brett Wilkinson has signed a 2 year contract extension at Connacht.

Any opinions, who would Ulster prefer, McComish or Anderson. Never really impressed with Anderson, would have preferred to keep McComish in Connacht

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

its about average, pienaar is probably on about £300,000 a year and he's a world class player. £350,000 I do believe. Cory Jane would be a serious signing. Someone has very deep pockets in Ulster. Then again the saving being made from letting BJ goes evens it out. Think Ulster should have gone afte...
