Re: Nevin Spence Memorial Service
I was a Ravenhill today and it was a very dignified, moving and appropriate send off for Nevin. What a mixture of emotions these last 8 days have brought: from shock and sorrow on hearing the news, to disbelief as the details of what happened started to emerge, to a real sense of admiration for the ...

Re: Is this true?
As with many I am really struggling to comprehend this and come up with an appropriate form of words. Nevin was an outstanding player and by all accounts an outstanding person as well, who will be sadly missed. Thoughts and prayers are with his mother, sister and all of the Spence family at this ter...

Re: Cables
Shocked and saddened to hear the news. It was in early 2011 that I started coming back to Ravenhill after many years away. Before long I joined up with the group that Stanley was a member of and it was a pleasure to spend time with him. He was an absolute gentleman and his knowledge of (and passion ...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
I am fairly sure the IRFU only allow NIQ's over 30 to sign contracts for 12 months at a time. Remember reading something along these lines when Nathan Hines left Leinster.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
A work colleague sat down beside me at coffee time this morning and his first words were "I saw Dean Ryan in House of Fraser yesterday, no idea why he would be over here". He is from Limerick, a big Munster fan and has been saying for some time that Foley was a certainty for the Munster jo...

Re: Return of Wilson
Good to see Roger back and I think he will be a good signing. He is a very solid player who will not let Ulster down and always put in a good performance, which is something we cannot say about some of our back row players. I too would be sad to see P3 go as he has been palying well, is settled here...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
No worries mate - took it as intended. I have just moved into a house about 5 minutes walk from Ravenhill so will pester the neigbourhood dogs for some info. Jack Russell's are particulalry good for a quick soundbite I believe!

Re: Will (NB: NOT should) McL/Doak be coaching Ulster next y
Appreciate that he would be centrally contacted but I imagine the IRFU's stance was that if he has already decided to come back next year, why fork out any extra money to bring him back for this season when the Ospreys could be paying his wages instead?

Re: Will (NB: NOT should) McL/Doak be coaching Ulster next y
There was a piece in the Sunday Times (so it must be true) a few months ago that Humph had spoken with the Ospreys about signing Tommy for this season. Apparently the Ospreys were interested in doing a deal in order to cut down their wage bill but it was scuppered when the IRFU wouldn't subsidise hi...
