It’s in two days... thought it deserved a thread!
My favourite French team - with some ridiculously good players. How are we going to do?

Re: Bath v Ulster
Not for a moment suggesting UR should or could be privately run. We don't produce the players other IRFU teams do. Whatever failings UR have, it ultimately comes down to how the provice is run. UR player development from a young age is not good. We're struggling to produce ebough good homegrown pla...

Re: Bath v Ulster
1. It's now an IRFU franchise in Belfast rather than anything like a recognisable provincial side. Far too few local players in the team (anything less than 10 in the XV and I won't watch). 2. The treatment of Ruan Pienaar. 3. The ostracism of Jackson and Olding. 4. The crass commercialisation of g...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
The history of rugby in Ulster means that there is a shortage of underage club players -- the schools discourage it -- the legacy is that clubs fined it hard to obtain players because boys leaving school have no attachment to a club and stop playing. Similarly in Leinster historically the number of...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
It's not his fixation it is most probably an Irish Government request as 7s are included in the Olympics -- and it might increase any funding received from the Government . Ireland don't have a great number of sportsmen or woman represented at the Olympics -- beyond boxing. What the absolute duck a...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
From The42 website In time he will make that power count in senior 15-a-side rugby, but the medium-term plan for Sexton is to link up with the Ireland Sevens squad. He will be a valuable addition in their maiden World Series campaign and what promises to be a tough final bid for the 2020 Olympics wh...

Re: L.I.
I was chatting to a guy who is involved a bit in LI, and he said that when this reared its head, the Chairman said, to use his exact words, "F**k them, then". I said to him a lot of Ulster fans are looking across and envying a club which has its players backs... He said that a few people ...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
Tap and go is not included in the script but it is only possible when awarded a penalty - assuming between 10 - 14 penalties being given in a match tap and go is only possible on about two penalties a game in a match lasting 80 minutes thus 95 % + weepee was actually on script . Of course he was. T...

To be fair LI are showing more balls and loyalty to Paddy than Ulster ever did.

You don’t half talk some b0llocks...rumncoke wrote:No my original point was that the Sevens Team was aimed at the Olympics and thus not an automatic route for a player from the North of Ireland .
Although given the International 7s circuit it is not with out its appeal .

Sexton is an U19 player on age, not merit.

Not sure about anyone else but when I view UAFC from home PC I get iHumph and NOC on the sides of every screen.
Perhaps the admins could change it to Paddy & Stu, lest we ever forget...
