Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides
I may be wide of the mark and am happy to be corrected but I think the way the laws are framed at the moment dictate that the tackling player bears sole responsibility for what ensues. Whether this is a good or bad thing is I think open to debate but that’s where the laws stand.

Re: #boibegin
Sorry don’t think I was clear enough earlier but it was the two acquitted boys I was referring to. I have scaled back massively on trips to Ravenhill as I feel to do otherwise would somehow send the message that I agreed with how the matter was handled. In fact, nothing could be further from the tru...

Re: #boibegin
Would somebody please let me know how, or indeed if, they found it possible to “ support the team not the regime’? I still find it desperately difficult to reconcile the events of last year. How did this manifest itself. This is a completely genuine question. Cheers

Re: Payne's hearing .... Updates
Just reported on 5 live that Payne was punished for a tip tackle!!! This is why it's important to say innocent if that's what you mean in my opinion. Poorly handled from start to finish

I agree that our forum is poorer without the razor-tongued one. He is capable of great insight but we probably all shudder a little when his wrath is visited upon some ordinary mortal. His use of sarcasm is second to none however I think his patronising of his targets should be restricted to the Eng...

If we fail to win or pick up a LBP...
Just a thought but surely the bonus point we got last week compensates for the one that got away in Leicester. No need to beat ourselves up when 5 points over the two games has been achieved. It's not how - its how many!

Ulster v Clermont
3/4 years ago I was at Croke for the HC semi between Leinster and Munster. Not many gave Leinster much of a chance and just assumed that the " red machine" would roll over the top of them. Things got worse when Contepomi was replaced by a kid at 10. However an unbelievable performance ensu...

Re: Positives & Negatives: Ulster V Aironi (part 1)
I thought last night's performance and result were an improvement on recent fare but just about the minimum required. Signs of improvement such as better decision making and at least an attempt to play an off- loading game were there but we are starting from a pretty low base in terms of the teams c...

Re: In Fairness to Paul Marshall- He should have stayed on
Surely any impartial observer must agree that Humph's sustained lack of form is now seriously hurting the team. It feels like an eternity since he delivered and i believe that we now win despite him and not because of him. It seems highly unlikely that with him at 10 we will get the 10 points we bad...

Re: Glasgie Match
That was a desperate performance from us and i believe its now time to forget about the play offs for this year. Some strange decisions from the ref but sooo many mistakes from us that it didnt matter. I hate to single out one player but for me the 3 missed pens from humph are simply unforgiveable a...

I agree ruckover. No use whatsoever to think about what we don't have, let's concentrate on what we do have. I'm looking for a big performance today and then all systems go for Clermont. SUFTU

Re: Afoa starts
I see tomorrow's game as a last chance saloon for us. Great to have our WC players back but more desperate luck with injury to a key player. A win is of course essential but I feel a statement needs to be made showing our intention to get our season back on track. That can start with us supporters do...

Agree that the simpler/shorter the better so here's my offering-to the tune of Bob The Builder Iaaan Humphreys Can he kick it? Iaaan Humphreys Yes he can! OR Johann Muller Can he catch it? Johann Muller Yes he can! The possibilities go on and on but you get the idea. Should give Ian/Ruan a bit of a ...

Re: If Northampton was tomorrow....
If you believe (as I do) that bookmakers are very rarely wrong when offering odds on any given event, then I would like to point out that they also have noticed the differing fortunes of us and the Saints recently. The odds on an Ulster victory in MK have shortened from 9/2 to 7/2! Can't agree that we...
