Not something I watch very often, but the odd time I watch a rugby league game it always strikes me how awful the officials are. I mean, all of them. I'm pretty sure I understand how the game works, but do they select refs like you pick a jury? It's essential you have no prior knowledge of the sport?

How can you possibly know that? So many things can happen over the next year or two. Maybe he loses form. Maybe our needs are greater elsewhere in the squad. Maybe he thinks blue is his colour.
