Re: Ulster's finances

Apparently, as also mentioned in the submission, they don’t pay VAT on ticket sales over the border and this tax liability costs Ulster up to 750k a year. Think that this is the main reason that the GAA Ulster finals are regularly played at Clones. Will be interesting to see if that remains the cas...

Re: Petrie departs…..

Had always thought that Kingspan, while not blameless have been thr victims of a smear campaign to distract from the shortcomings of a tory council and a tory donor building contractor. The emails just hoped with that, the Kingspan equivalent of 'lots of spit'

Has anyone yet mentioned that Cardiff have won 3 of their 18 matches this season? I think any other season in recent memory the overwhelming tone here would be that we've dropped a point against a gash Cardiff team. The relief that we didn't drop another four, despite being abysmal is a sign of whe...

Not sure where the Lowry grief is coming from, thought he was very good last night. Other standouts where Sheridan and McCann, as has been said. Cormac brilliant off the bench, with the try saving tackle. I'm starting to think Andrew should be above Tom Stewart in the pecking order at hooker.

Maybe time to restart the Positives and Negatives post match thread. Positives - Ulster rugby has a hitherto unknown Turnover King Negatives - everything else. To be fair to him, he got turned over right in front of me last week. Half assed attempt at a clear out that led to a penalty. It seems Lei...

Bookies have us at 2-1. Almost feeling a bit optimistic which I'm sure I will regret, ww were bullied in the first half last week.

AOC again is the only thing that surprises me there. Hopefully he'll be fresh enough after last week.

Re: Montpellier v Ulster, Sunday April 7 12:30pm KO (UK Time), Viaplay Sports

Were there any post match interviews yesterday? Think there are two very different takes on the result: 1. A good win, onwards and upwards 2. We weren't good enough and were lucky Montpellier imploded. Would be interested to know which tack Finlay would go for, would strongly expect McFarland would ...

Would the coach want a 'safe pair of hands' to stand between his son and a start?

Ah, in ulster's last try, one of their lot tried to collapsed and received a number of studs as the maul went over him. Locals weren't happy.

By Ulster? If he wasn't cheating, trying to collapse the maul from an offside position he'd have been fine.

It wouldn't be the Ulster way to take the lead with so long left. It'll be in the last 5 mins or not at all.
