Re: Squad depth 2024/25

Sportspeople say all kinds of things around contracts in fairness. I don't doubt we weren't tremendously appealing to him - for all sorts of reasons, largely covered in the posts above - but I'd love to know about the analytics behind our signings more generally. It all seems last minute hit and hop...

Re: Squad depth 2024/25

Intrigued by the Morgan signing if it goes through as is suggested. From what I've read he's effectively Kiwi Mike Lowry but given a chance at 10 - 5"7, likes to run rather than kick, backs himself, can see what he's trying even when it doesn't come off. It's worth a punt but where art thou, ta...

Re: Ulster v Dragons Fri April 14 7:35pm

Rea's body language in the 2nd half gave the impression he was running on empty. As said above the missed tackle on the hooker for his try was really poor and reminiscent of the connacht one which led to a period of exile. Physical fatigue leads to mentally switching off but at least fitness can be...

Re: Ulster v bulls Sat 25th 7.35pm

Harry Sheridan was immense when he came on. His energy totally changed that Ulster team. Couldn't agree more, he had a massive impact. Thought we looked better with Postlethwaite on too and I say that as someone who likes Moore. Is it just me or is every game the Bulls are involved in a total eyeso...

Re: Glasgow Vs Ulster Fri 17th Feb @ 7.45pm Viaplay Sports 1

certainly feels like the end of a cycle, whether for DMcF or for a number of the squad I'm not entirely sure. Lots of young talent - much of it in the pack - either not developing or being underused. Week on week this season it's been the senior pros who haven't cut the mustard for whatever reason. ...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Murray Kinsella at 42 dot ie linking Quinn Roux with a move to Ulster, currently at Bath. Been a rumour for a while. Makes sense for both and he'd probably be a cheap upgrade on Carter. Heard that a few times now, Murray's not a bluffer so would say it has legs. Good signing imo. Someone with decen...

Re: Ulster v La Rochelle - Saturday (Sunday?) Ravenhill (RDS?)

Put the half time team talk on a loop for the rest of the season and try and develop some kind of siege mentality. Crap situation, rubbish first half, second half has to be made a baseline.

Doak outside Cooney went well. Stewart excellent, McCann and Treadwell with some very positive contributions.

Sack it off, drop into the Parker and try and win that.

Apropos of nothing in particular a fine cup competition is suffering death by a thousand cuts.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 3rd Dec 19:35 Viaplay Sports 1

I'm with KoTH - it's an interesting side. Not sure it'll work and would love to know the last time Hendy started at 6, but the scope for 'hybrid' players in various positions is worth looking at over the next few weeks. It's something of a free hit anyway, you're basically playing a just-below inter...
