Re: Clermont v Ulster, Saturday April 13 12:30pm (UK Time) TNT Sports - Actual Channel TBC

The first half Ulster didn’t look that outclassed but losing Moore early did nothing for the backs and in MHO McIlroy is not an option on the wing Lowry should have stayed on the wing where his pace over 10 metres might have open up the Clermont backline McIlroy should have gone to full back. The su...

4 away games was 1 too
many with the injuries to too many players when the chase got to too much the heart was not there to contend with a team gone rampant

Stockdale was listed as injured mid week ?

Interesting selection AoC 50 minutes then Sheridan to second row. as it will be less demanding than back row for the last 30 .

Re: Montpellier v Ulster, Sunday April 7 12:30pm KO (UK Time), Viaplay Sports

It depends on who is on the panel and some other factors ie Montpellier are on a survival course at present --and if the second half performance without him is anything to go by may not make it.

He is just a big guy who acts without thinking and his team pay for it.

Re: Luke retiring at the end of the season

To brave for his own good in his early days and had some bad injuries which took toll of his pace and cost him many Irish caps forwards make it past 30 easier than backs and training for a seat on the bench loses its appeal quickly . Enjoy the future but watch the calories!!!

Re: Montpellier v Ulster, Sunday April 7 12:30pm KO (UK Time), Viaplay Sports

Justin Cooney’s tackle was high it was the tackle by ToT which was a harsh call My point is basically that a referee and his known disposition can effect how a team play and players performance and imo Ulster were trying to play within that frame work although Cooney was getting a little frustrated ...

Re: Montpellier v Ulster, Sunday April 7 12:30pm KO (UK Time), Viaplay Sports

Ref watch In the first half the penalty count was Ulster 8 Montpellier 0 The true count should have been Ulster 7, Montpellier 3 Note I don't accuse him of making up Penalties against Ulster on every occasion just once for what he termed a high tackle when in actual fact the player being tackled was...

Doak gives a longer and better pass than Burns at the moment he is under pressure being classed as novice and thus target for the day

Can’t give an assessment on his kicking as he has been playing a shuffle pass game.

Re: Teflon Man

D4 are worried ??? It was D4 who kicked the heart out of the the Province Why would anyone want to sign for Ulster after Ruan? -- why would any schoolboy aspire to play for Ulster or professionally after PJ and SO .?? "The evil that men do lives after them" While we blame Bryn the fact is ...

Re: Kits Off

A loose head is not there to destroy the tight head he his there to steady the scrum and withstand the ( frequently illegal ) pressure put on him by the tight head thus ensure your possession on your ball . The only way a loose head can put pressure on the tight head is by BORING or PULLING or LIFTI...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Term break selections are basically a lottery of not necessarily the best but the available . Hence the numbers selected and the fact the games are not so much competitive but indicative of potential or in many cases the lack of it . When you look at the numbers who are actually make the Academy you...

Re: The run in

I would prefer Munster at home and Leinster away when looking for possible points But what you face when playing either province depends on what they may face before or after their Ulster match. A win against Bennett is essential they being only team in the 6 which Ulster face the results and how ot...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

Sheridan is not a six like Henderson he is second row who can play six if necessary . Whereas T Beirne is a six who can play second row and does for Ireland due to the strength of the Irish back row . Sheridan will be in the second row when Henderson retires or goes abroad for the money because His ...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

The Stormers were a fit physical outfit who concentrated a rush defence at Doak who was identified as a green out half he was looking at three closing on him in the first 10 -15 minutes the pressure was ease by putting the ball wide . and keeping play in the stomers half -- come half time the roles ...
