Re: Ulster in the Challenge Cup
:stir: My suggestion years ago against Glasgow as a Sub when Ulster were in dire need of a ball carrier to get over the gain line. At the moment no unless Marshall was available at 12. In the Rainbow "Gamefiller" Cup maybe but Ulster need an experienced Backline for the Challenge Cup --There are tim...

Re: Heineken Cup 2020/21
When Gibbes took the Job he had the promise of a capable team including Jackson and Olding -- and threw the towel in when he discovered they were to be ditched, like water ---by Logan --- The contract had been broken by Ulster before Gibbes . He didn't sign on to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Re: PADDY JACKSON
Watched LI play the Saints last night -- Barnes was the ref and Irish didn't get any 50/50 calls but in the end were well beaten . It sort of put the Ulster game in context the Saints are a top four side -- not great team but based on a BIG Bullying Pack who chewed LI to bits with Biggar at out half...

Re: Rainbow Cup
FUDGE changes first things first referees have to apply the laws regarding dangerous play -- if the player comes up injured --and off take a peek at it and if its 50/50 card them both -- don't automatically blame the tackler just because two heads crash . Knees up jumping at an opponent at least a y...

Re: Ulster in the Challenge Cup
Sorry you haven't had a pay out but to be honest time is on your side and MRI might shorten the odds considerably but that's along story with many indignities including the words " as long as its just your finger " The problem in the Ulster second row is not effort both give 110% it is a question of...

Re: And today, joining the underground .....
Long before the Africans the Vikings were the leading slavers of western Europe and one of the biggest markets was Dublin But back to Topic me I prefer to live with what I consider" A Benign Monarchy " where the forces of Law and Order are supposedly accountable to the Crown rather than the Leader o...

Re: Saints v Ulster QF Saturday 8pm KO BT Sport 2
My take on the 80 minute capacity of Ulster would be :- Ulster's scoring potential was on the wing and the attacking flair was the back three -- players who normally can play a full 90 minutes and be as capable of scoring in the 80th minute as the first five. The Saints defence on the other hand was...

Re: Saints v Ulster QF Saturday 8pm KO BT Sport 2
The first half the passing was like the under 12s at the player rather than in front of him — everybody taking the ball standing still. Lowry trying to hard and getting isolated and penalised several times. The second half was less static with the ball but the defence was shaky to say the least . A ...

Re: Saints v Ulster QF Saturday 8pm KO BT Sport 2
My read on Henderson would be that he may have received a Lions call and thus avoiding an early return to the fray . If we get past the (s)aints he may return. A six day turn around away from home is not the best way to go into a game: but to some extent last week was a nearly a pre-season run rathe...

Re: Heiny Cup 20/21 Other Sides
Judges love obscure English sometimes to enforce the justification of the inappropriate action of the Courts but then that is another story where the ignorance of the Prosecution needlessly let loose the Troll Trollops in search of a victim.

Captain it isn't allowed --- ( in excess ) -- drunk and disorderly, drunk in charge etc and the tolerance levels keep falling The one thing alcohol has over other drugs it is easy and cheep to make thus extremely hard to ban and very easy to tax . Brennan peoples perception of Brennan depends on whe...

Re: Quins game in the bic biro
We at Ulster talk about a lack of SiD but that game showed that it present in the English premiership and to be honest I have seen Ulster send out weaken sides who performed much better than Quins. For all the sparkle present in the Ulster backs -- they failed to perform -- for some obvious reasons ...

Re: PADDY JACKSON
anyway back to PJ -- the boot wasn't as sure this week but his vision and passing are streets ahead of anything currently playing in Ireland long - or short missing the inside centre or a wee flick inside the sureness of touch -- it is not something you learn --its a gift Carberry sees gaps,ut lacks...

Re: PADDY JACKSON
Happy to see during the match the commentators drew attention to the flying wedge but they failed to to explain it is already defined as dangerous play and illegal . and if every 5 metre try was reviewed in the same manner as some toys for crossing -- my bet would be at least 75 to 85% would be disa...

Re: English Premiership 2019/20
One might say a premiership reject if one wanted to be unkind, but then there is only one out half who was not rejected by Ulster but rather spat on for a single "spit "
