Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

AWJ shouldn't be on tour never mind the team. Feck all to do with freshness. Leaderships skills me hole. Be as well wheeling out Willie John for the same effect. Reminds me of the most ridiculous geographical selection ever, Tony O'Reilly when he was about 100, but was working in London and had a p...

Re: Summer Tours

Boks looking good though. They have the Lions in four years so they are feeling the heat.     God knows why Dave.   Unlike the NZers I genuinely like the Saffers and will be hoping they snatter the Lions too. :D I have watched all three ...

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

I must have over slept. Reading all this we must have lost the series. Even if the Lions do happen to win the series, it won't change my mind about Gatland. He's a dull customer in my book whatever happens. I did acknowledge that the Lions could still win the series (above) but I do think it extrem...

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

I have to disagree with the pair of you about Gatland. I quite liked him at the start of his coaching career but he has become more and more conservative, is totally predictable, coaches a dull brand of rugby and shows no innovation. He is past his best and has nothing new to offer. He persists with...

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

There is much microanalysis of the first test in particular and of the tour overall. But to take a more general and philosophical look at things - I believed the Lions were doomed the moment Gatland was appointed as coach, and then he in turn appointed Howly at attack coach (joke) and Warburton as c...

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

I must say I'm rather shocked at the lack of discussion following the game, I thought some of the biggest talkers about the Lions chances might trot along to explain where it all went wrong. >EW  OK - as you wish Bags. Where it went wrong for the Lions : Management Selection Coaching T...

Spot on - PJ can practice all he wants but he will never be able to pass the ball into touch like Jonny Cash.

Yes - a dog's. One humping down, two to go. The rusty Blacks will only get better. The Lions don't have the speed, skill, power, brains or dog to match them - doesn't matter who thy select.

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

Rum will chirp up about Tier 2 soon Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk More likely to score tries against Tier 2 nations than Tier 1 nations therefore more conversion kicks. Conversions are closer to the posts than long range penalties therefore higher kicking stats  Keith Earls makes conver...

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

Farrell is very highly rated Spiffers possibly one of the few Lions players that were in the sh. I think Ford would have acted as a turnstile in New Zealand and Farrell has outperformed Sexton this season so deserved the start in his favoured position. Now he's got to back it up. Paddy Jackson has ...

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

Very considered post for you young Jizzbag. I doff my cap for a change. I accept I may be the only one considering Filthy Liam a pretty reckless gamble that could blow things. I also find it laughable Snipe that think Farrell is in Halfnupe's class as a kicker. He has already missed more than Halfn...

Re: Lions Tour of NZ 2017

Aye Shan, Marler yet again distinguished himself by being a total arsehole. You rightly deride the opposition but I'm sure you will know the full Chiefs team would have stuffed the Lions. Only 4 of the usual starters available. Ulster would have given them a game... Well up to half time anyway. Mar...

Re: Summer Tours

Earls might score trys for the Lions, but I doubt it, and Garland can't risk his defensive weaknesses .His scoring record against tier 1 opposition is not inspiring . What defensive weakness? Have you not been watching Earls for the past couple of seasons? Pound for pound he's one of the most aggre...
