Re: Ulster v Lions
Just read the IT piece on the Ulster vLions game and really surprised that within the waffle there was no mention of the significant appearance on the bench especially after all the talk previously of the weakness of the Ulster front row. For those that don’t understand the significance pity and sha...

Re: Ulster v Lions
Suftum19 fair points re selection and agree hugely about Marty Moore his loss last year was a real disaster not only for his scrummaging but perhaps more for his ability to pop up at the right place and use his delicate handling touch. A much over looked player.

Re: Ulster v Munster
From the latest injury info I would favour a McCluskey and Marshall combination and Stewart Moore going into Full back. Lowry seems doubtful injury wise and I would tend to favour Moore anyway.

Couldn’t understand the decision not to retain JTA as when he got over his initial lack of fitness he proved to be a very effective. Performer. IHe seemed to have settled in well both on and off the field atUlster an the indications seemed to be That he would be happy to stay. I don’t think that we ...

Re: Where do we go from here?
It is interesting to see how a few clubs in Bankruptcy can change the whole scene around. The Celtic League was seen by the English Media as the poor relation . How things have changed. Experience of the ERC has shown all abiding self interest of the English Premiership Clubs you only have to look a...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
I amreally quite surprised by the tone of this article. It seems that people do care about youth rugby certainly more than the Ulster Branch PRO department who seem to have ignored these games. No mention that the Schools under 18 are taking the field again on Wednesday at Donnybrook. Leinster schoo...

The planning application has an estimate of 3 to 4 months for the work to be completed. Assuming that the BCC planing committee meet in July it is going to be August at the earliest for them to start which means probably a November finish if no snags or hold ups. If as is likely the BCC Committee do...

Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22 Other Sides
From an Ulster view point Exeters victory is not good news. It would have been advantageous to have had the Stormers fighting on two fronts rather than just being able to concentrate on the URC. It will be interesting to see how our South African bretheren react to the two defeats today. I know that...

The expert opinion of Stephen Jones recommends Manu at centre to provide some force, but my hope is to see a Stuart and Robbie combination smashing through the centre of the English defence.
They would be an awesome combination of skill, size and power.

I feel that the alleged plan to take over the Ospreys “Franchise” is a combination of an English Club wanting to give the two fingers to the PRL and the RFU along with the current “owners” of the Ospreys seeing bankruptcy or administration looming and y this would give them a way out from their liab...

Thought sStockdale showed his first glimpse of his true self with his score last night, the smile was back. I think Farrell showing some faith in him has helped to restore his confidence in his self which has been missing since his injury. The players are all different in the way they recover from i...

It appears that this decision is being forced through by the state of the pitch which is not exactly a ringing endorsement of either the UR management nor the grounds team When is the full report from the investigation that is allegedly taking place into the La Rochelle fiasco going to be released. ...

Find myself in a bit of a quandry over Sale game and I suspect I am not alone. I feel the praise heaped on Sale for their home win over travel wrecked Ulster was unjustified and for that reason I would like to see them smashed next Saturday. A win would help Ulsters reformation and it would help the...

I have no knowledge just a suspicion that Marcus may have caught the “bug” in South Africa really badly as he seemed to have disappeared largely since then. As for Nick Timoney he is now one of Faz ‘s squad and is probably required to play only 7/9 games hence his absence this week. The extent of th...

Re: Ronnie Lamont
Nonplussed not surprised he was sending boys to Inst. I remember him playing in the schools cup for Inst along with the Gilpins, Foote and Hazlet Mitchel. Jerry Gilpin and even then Ronnie Lamont were the players we feared and for good reason. Unfortunately it was neither of them that did the damage...
