Re: Salaries on the Pro14

What disastrous suggestion, firstly there is no salary cap in the Pro14 just the decisions by the individual unions own rules.
I wonder is the Rustler prepared to disclose his earnings to public scrutiny?

Re: Munster 2019/20

Dublin 4 Fawley if from Skerries should feel right at home alongside the O’Connor brothers who have both seen their future at Ulster and who are getting plenty of first team Rugby.

Re: What are we feeding them?

I agree with Bangor Boy Ulster are leaving it too late to commit to potential Academy players. Most players and parents are only too aware of the fragility of the career of a pro player and unless they are outstanding then university ot college choice is the priority. Also can’t overlook the length ...

Re: Ravenhill crowd/attendance

Ot only have the numbers picked up but the actual support within the ground has picked up too. It is helped by the much more positive performance over the last few games. It seemed for a while that we were getting the 4 tries for the bonus point and then shopping up shop. Great to see that they are ...

Re: What are we feeding them?

Part of the problem is the lack of university places here in N.Ireland which leads to many opting for university either in England and Scotland. I can remember many years ago going toTrinity College on a Friday afternoon to watch the Irish Universities play the Scottish Universities and half the stu...

Re: Ulster v Connacht Fri Dec 27th 7:35pm

Two strong sides in spite of IRFU rest protocol. Great to see players returning from injury and in Addisons case suspension. Good to see O’Connor junior on bench was impressed by his 80 minute stint last week. With the exceptions of the missing Hendy Jacob and Jordi this must be virtually a first ch...

Stadiums in Ireland

Lot of talk on Leinster web site re the FAI going belly up and allegedly owing €55m and perhaps putting their 42.5 % of the AVIVA up for sale if the RoI government not prepared to bail them out.How do you see this impinging on theIRFU and their finances. Nearer home we must be grateful that the Ulst...

Re: Christmas Targets pre Euro fixtures

I am of the do what the rest do over Xmas ( including Leinster) school of thought send the youngster’s to play away at Leinster. I am hoping to see Stewart Moore in that squad. I am hoping we will field two strong teams at home as we owe both Connacht and Munster one. Unlike many on here I believe i...

Re: Harlequins Away 13 Dec

From memory the Three Scrum halves “ @ Toulon was largely due to injury with a bit of Kiss’s magic style of selection. But although well beaten Ulster still got a Try Bonus Pt so hard to say that Ulster had run the white flag up.

Oh to beScottish and assured that we wouldn’t get Adamson. Only consolation is that they might get him twice for their Derby matches.

Re: Ulster v Scarlets Fri Nov 29 7:35pm

Needed a bonus point win and the team knew it. Achieved their target with some style within the first half hour and then sat back to admire their handiwork. Personally I was surprised they did not pull players off at halftime to save them for later campaigns. Second half was a grim experience to sit...

Re: Ruan Pienaar

The situation of Ruan and Mathewson is not really comparable,Ruan was a permanent squad member whereas Mathewson was brought in as medical joker on a short term contract but was kept on by Munster even though they signed a scrum half from Leinster. He has made a career latterly as medical joker prov...

Re: Bath v Ulster

As said earlier this a difficult selection decision, with a number of options all of which you could put forward a reasonable argument for. It is just great that we have these options available to us unlike in the not too distant past where we went away to France with a back line full of scrum half'...

Re: Bath v Ulster

I suppose it is a question of choosing two out of three to start on Friday night between Addison, Marshall and Ludik. It would seem that Marshall is playing well at 13, and whilst Addison could play 13 his inclusion at 15 does add the X factor. However Ludik solidarity at fullback is very attractive...
