Big Merv, after hopefully watching Ireland beat Wales, I'll look forward to the rendition of 'Flower of Scotland'. No doubt it will warm my English heart. >EW

Leave milady in Belfast and have a good day out
It's a nice idea but the main reason behind the weekend is to see the Titanic Exhibition. It wasn't open the last time we were in town.

Where to watch the 6 Nations

Milady and meself are going to be in Belfast over the weekend of 8/9 February. Where's the best bar to watch the 6 Nations? We're staying at the Europa so preferably somewhere within staggering distance of there would be great.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you're flying into East Mids and looking for transport into Leicester, it might be worth your while having at the 'useful video' as mentioned in the second paragraph on this site.

Re: Welford Road tickets

BJ - I meant no disrespect to the memory of Tom Crumbie (for I know he is considered a deity around Welford Rd), however as the Leicester web site itself omits the name Crumbie from its description of the terrace, I wanted to use consistent terminology as a reference for those making future booking...

Re: Welford Road tickets

Ah BeeJay(sus) sure we will probably be on the wrong end of a kicking but as long as your beer is up to scratch all will be well. Do you know any public house in the vicinity where the Guinness is something better than the poisonous muck recently experienced in Northampton. Keep it to yourself OK? ...

Re: Welford Road tickets

Welcome one and all. Just one point - don't believe everything it says on the tickets. Nobody in their right mind calls it the Holland & Barratt Stand - it's the Crumbie Stand, always has been and always will be. H&B are just some johnny-come-lately sponsor wallahs. Next thing you'll be tell...

Re: Clermont away travel

The name of the pub have changed after the win of the french championship last year. It's now the 'Bouclier de Brennus', but the ambiance and the welcoming are the same. If you have any question about Clermont-Ferrand or the Auvergne Region, you can ask me. Merci bien, Rémy. See you in December.

Re: Hotels in Leicester

You can never go wrong with a Hilton .. always pretty decent Unless it's the one at Manchester airport. We stayed there a couple of years ago as we had a stupid o'clock flight out in the morning. I think every shell suit from Lancashire was in the restaurant. Also, the TV in our room went on the bl...

Re: HEC Draw Live

No worries Tenyarder. :) Filbert Street closed after the 2001-02 season and the new stadium is only ¼ mile away. It became known as the Crisp Bowl after Walkers took over as the main sponsors but, from the start of the 2011-12 season, it'll be the King Power Stadium (after the new main sponsors King...

Leicester City also playing Crystal Palace at home at 3 pm on 19th. Their ground (is it Filbert Street?) is not too far from Welford Road. Leicester City play at the King Power Stadium (previously the Walkers Stadium). It's a ½ mile from Welford Road and the surrounding car parks are used by both s...

The Tigers are coming!

Hello Ulster, It is time 11th January 2004 was avenged! Just kidding ... I wasn't at that match, in fact it's over 20 years since I was last in Belfast. The flights and accommodation are booked for the weekend of 13-15 January. We're staying at Madison's on Botanic Avenue - the online reviews look O...
