Re: The real Questions from today....
For me the continuing selection of Payne at 13 is the biggest issue currently. He is one of the best 15s in the NH and is not even in our best 4 centres (Olding,Cave,Marshall, McCluskey). He is too slow off the mark and is much better when he has more time and space. We automatically look a better t...

Re: Ulster sides in UBL
I understand it looks that way but there will actually be no more bursaries given out than any other year, there is a cap in place that tthe university wouldn't allow to be stretched. In fact last year 2 elite bursaries were given to lorcan dow and chris colvin, chris has since moved on and jack owe...

Re: Ulster sides in UBL
Haha rocky maybe we should start youth rugby and do a malone picking up players from clubs far and wide. :stir: Such as? QUB skirting around the payments issue. Stockdale, for one example, was meant to go to Ballynahinch but was given some sort of bursary I believe. I know of a few other teams that...

Re: Ulster sides in UBL
Tongue firmly in cheek. Up the binmen. The main benefit of Queen's is to offer school leavers a good setup and good coaching out of school and exposure to high level rugby earlier than at other clubs. Eventually they filter back to their clubs as better players. Based on our current crop, armagh wil...

Re: Ulster sides in UBL
owens and dow on elite athlete bursaries, that's it at mo. In fairness, its a strong squad when all are available, but between Ravens and irish 19s/20s there will be a lot of weeks we don't see those guys.

Re: Ulster Underage Interpros 2014
From the horses mouth, no injury and it was based on the performance in past two matches. I'm sure a rest will do no harm and there are plenty of ravens games to come.

Re: Any word on the Academy?
Also, I imagine mckee's non inclusion could be because he is studying medicine and his timetable wouldnt allow him to do both.

Re: Ulster Underage Interpros 2014
Decent result for the 20s. For the most part Leinster played all the Rugby, but Ulster took their tries well. O hagan made some great breaks with ball in hand, but was hit and miss with his kicking. Ulster were physically a lot bigger than Leinster, particularly in the backs. Mckee and Arnold both m...
