Re: Team for Dragoons

Did what was realistically expected, nothing more. Ref defence, agree we are porous. Real marker will be SA especially Stormers. Their game versus Bulls was a cracker even though they lost. Both ars mile's ahead in terms of forward power and attacking ability. Murphy has serious work to do. Given t...

Definitely - cracking player and we look light on the wing going forward. Also hoping a change of coach might get Aaron Sexton stepping up.

Re: Contract Situation

Kind of strange is it not that King doesnt seem to have been seen since Christmas? Watching from a far (with little to report) No Leinster players want to come north or to Munster so we are going to be lighter next year than this obviously. Players who have turned both provinces down are H Bryne, F...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Has to be down to the coaching, they should be drilled enough to be confident in making plays and recovering well from mistakes. Is it the full coaching team though? McFarland had us playing some great rugby and getting great results for the first few years. Then Payne left and we haven't been the s...

Possibly nothing but Sheridan was in this weeks "training video" so maybe available? Then again so was Mattie Rea..

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

How about Noel McNamara? Did a great job with irish U20s, highly rated would be someone the IRFU would want to bring back for a head coaching gig. Attack coach with Bordeaux currently ..

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

I've said elsewhere, Ulster's option beyond Hendy at lock are woeful for this level of rugby. AOC may be a "warrior" in some people's eyes but he's nowhere near good enough for this level. I reckon there must be about a dozen lock options across the other provinces who would be better tha...

Great to see McNabney get another start and Izzy on the bench, pretty happy with that considering the injuries, although I'd have had Sheridan over Rea but this does keep him fresh.

Re: Glasgow v Ulster

McNabney was superb. Just pumps the legs and makes ground. Hopefully he and hopes can fill out a bit like McCann has. Finally some serious Ulster born forward prospects knocking on the door although equally plenty of time for Ulster to ruin them. Dan gurning about the ref but when you stop playing ...

Re: Glasgow v Ulster

Looks like Dan is sticking with rotation and giving lads a chance, probably saving a few who are carrying knocks. Impressive that he went for McNabney at 8 rather than just playing Matty Rea. It keeps the squad fresh - hopefully they will put in a good performance, front 5 looks good and the bench p...

Re: End of the road for Dan??

Not a big fan of laying all the blame on the players, certainly the vast majority of it you could argue was their fault. What would you do if you are coach and your players aren't performing, you change something. What exactly did the coaches changed that resulted in an improvement? Maybe getting t...

Re: Ulster v Dragons Fri April 14 7:35pm

It wasn't a missed tackle as such but you'd expect a 7 on the angle to at least dive and attempt a tackle, or at least make the attacker take a wide arc to avoid him. But he looked shagged. I was thinking has he bulked up a bit this season? Could be why his cardio fitness is low and also why he has...

Re: A new low…?

https://ulster.rugby/content/ulster-rugby-builds-on-player-pathway-for-next-generation-of-ulster-players I don't know much about these things. How much of what is in this link is new and how much has been going on for ages? On that question I’d be particularly interested in the point below: ‘Integr...
