Re: URC: Ulster Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby Sat 2nd Dec 17:15

Great to see McNabney get another start and Izzy on the bench, pretty happy with that considering the injuries, although I'd have had Sheridan over Rea but this does keep him fresh. No excuse Sheridan not in side unless injured. Rea is a step down Unless he's keeping Sheridan for next week? Though ...

Re: Injury Update

So has McCann broken his ankle or solely done the ligaments? Had a feeling Billy would be good to go. The ligament situated at the front of the ankle which typically requires around 6-8 weeks for recovery apparently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Awful timing for the lad. Could have been a bol...

Re: Scrums. What are they for?

On the subject of scrums, I don't know how to fix them. They are better than they used to be, but they're still a time sink. The underlying issue is that they are incredibly difficult to referee, it's pure guess work half the time. It's an area where teams deploy so many dark arts to try and paint a...

Re: Scrums. What are they for?

I think if World Rugby has any interest in health and safety it wouldn't allow multiple forward substitutes late in a game, clearly a recipe for increased injuries. Fewer subs would force players to get smaller and fitter. Front row players in particular these days are basically built to be 50 minu...

Re: Ulster v Lions

I think McCann for example has played every game so far (and played way longer than intended in Galway), so I wouldn't be surprised to see some rotation here.

McCann, based on his performances so far, is getting to that stage where his league game time will be managed to ensure he's fit for Europe.

If he's selected. With Dan you never know, we could be back to watching French and McGrath.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Jager is not even that good. He is a decent player but his ability is being inflated because he happens to play in New Zealand for the Crusaders which is unusual for an Irish-born player. O'Toole is better, and Moore is also better if we assume he can get over his injury and get back to his previous...

Re: Ulster v Munster

What is the situation with Scott Wilson? I see he's in the academy but is he someone Ulster really have high hopes for and are putting a lot of effort into? Every academy batch seems to have a mix of high expectations and no-hopers, is Wilson in the former category (or at least, was he viewed with h...

A massive unit but judging by tonight his fitness level is about the same as mine.

Ran out of puff half way through the first half.

Re: Ulster v Munster

Just back. Can anyone enlighten ne as to why we weren't awarded a pen try after the McElroy tackle. I thought the pen and yellow were harsh (what was the Munster 15 supposed to go/do when McElroy dived into him) but given the refs decision surely a pen try was a cert? They deemed Crowley was in a p...

Re: Ulster v Munster

Our first team forwards plus Wilson won it in the end. Hendo, Herring, Ewers all made a big differences when they came on. They did. This was a great win. However, and not wanting to sound negative, we made the end far harder than it should have been. We shouldn't have needed a balls to the wall de...

Honestly can’t remember the last time I saw a young Ulster born prop come on and absolutely batter the scrum like Scott Wilson did tonight.

We are much better when Doak doesn’t take a step before passing at every ruck.

The first one Ryan collapsed but McGrath had his knee on the ground just before that.
