Re: ticket sales leinster match

when I hit my desk at 9am this morning, in leisurely fashion logged onto the Ulster website to pick up 4 terrace tickets for Leinster - was greeted by 'Terrace Sold Out'!!! Tried to buy prom tickets, it seems to be sold out as well, finally had to make do picking up a couple of spare odds and ends s...

Re: Reasons to (maybe) be happy this autumn series!

Neil I agree to an extent on Zebo - when I first saw it, I must say I thought WTF??? But actually, since the start of this season, firstly he's been in great form in general like Colin says, but also I have been noticing just how good he seems to be under the high ball. His timing and leap seem to b...

Re: Reasons to (maybe) be happy this autumn series!

Thornley calls Zebo at 15 in today's IT - so this selection might have legs..

Reasons to (maybe) be happy this autumn series!

I haven't seen a whole load of positivity around the various rugby websites I check out, regarding the autumn series - the memory of NZ this summer apparently still lingers. In fact this is pretty much the best series imaginable for Ireland to recover a bit of form and confidence - Fiji and the two ...

Re: Nevin Spence

I don't have a lot to add to what fermain has written above, I'm still struggling to get it through my head what has happened.. Nevin was a great player, and would surely have gone on to even greater things. It's a mark of his talents that Rooster's video tribute contains so many memorable moments -...

Re: What the Papers Say 2012-13

Yeah, I think Ulster need to be smart how they use Williams. If the default play becomes "give it to Nick" then Ulster will be very predictable. Yeah, he is hard to stop, but that means people will be looking to take him round the ankles, double team him etc. so Ulster need to be getting ...

Re: Leinster 2012/13

Leinster were absolutely woeful at the weekend - yes a much-weakened side, but very un-Leinster-like, poor skill levels, poor continuity, poor breakdown, and some tragic defence.. I see Thornely said that this is the fourth round one loss for Leinster in a row, so it's much too early to write the ob...

Re: Munster 2012/13

This was a pretty good performance from Munster, after a bad pre-season. Great to see Dougie Howlett back, he's such a class player - great percentage chip for Keatley's try. O'Dea's try was a peach too, Downey taking it up and LOD hitting a great line off him to skate through.. Interesting to see S...

Re: Positives & Negatives: Ulster V Glasgee

Definitely more positives than negatives, but a bit of a frustrating one. Positives: - most players showed up well, work rates were high, defence was dominant - particular mention for Diack, who was a deserving MOTM, but also Stevenson who I thought put in an outstanding shift of work (including a g...

Thanks bazzaj - I share your admiration for Leinster, in fact I'm drafting a piece having a look across at Leinster and thinking about what, if anything, other teams can learn from them

Re: Where to now?

bazzaj - I actually have a bit of a fear for Irish players, when it comes to the Lions selection. Right now Ireland are playing at a level clearly below England and Wales - in spite of the fact that at club level, we have been routinely out-performing them! So unless we have an outstanding 6 nations...
