Here's the BBC's update on the Pro14, with respect to the Saffers: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/54265930 As Neill says, how they will move from 12 to 14 in mid-season is anybody's guess.

Re: Toulouse v Ulster Heineken QF

Pretty grim all round. 1F is right, the Pro14 is looking very thin indeed. The English and the French are way ahead. Only Leinster could have given Toulouse a game today. As for Ulster, too many mistakes, too many missed tackles and Stockdale... s somebody above says, from Lions starter to Ulster be...

Re: Professional rugby

I watch sport for at least two reasons. I watch to enjoy the beauty of high quality play, of difficult things being well done. I appreciate physical prowess at a level that few can reach. But I also watch to support 'my people', people I identify with, whom I care about because we are part of the sa...

I'm only a second rate cricket fan but that line-up strikes a real chord with even me. Hall and Griffith were an unforgettable part of my childhood.

Re: Pro 14 Final vs Leinster, Sept 12th.

Forget about Leinster. You have a much bigger game this Sunday. Ulster's season will either end or continue and you will know how you measure up against teams from another league. True, D4, true. We'll give it a real rattle so long as we don't go down by a couple of scores early. I don't think Toul...

Coetzee always looks head and shoulders above the rest. From the rest, for me it's between McCloskey and Stockdale.

Re: Pro 14 Final vs Leinster, Sept 12th.

We were beaten by a side that was simply better in every department. Man for man and in every subunit. In every aspect of the game we were second best. 22 point gap was probably about right? I don't agree that Brace was agin' us. He was a bit whistle-happy but the same for both sides. Fermain's righ...
