I know you're right, but I'm of a generation when 6'1" could never be described as 'not very tall'. :D

I wouldn't write off Murphy after 5 games. Lucky tonight but let's see if they can build some confidence from this. He walked into a total mess. CEO going, star player going and unlikely to be replaced and a squad where all was not well. When you see what Sheridan is delivering it's a mystery as to...

By the way, what's the logic behind showing the match on BBC NI? Would it not make more sense to make away matches available? I suppose Premier/Viaplay would veto that so why don't they veto these home games?

Looks like we're pretty much all agreed that last night was a win by the least worst of the two teams. I'm hearing the words 'knock on' in my sleep. We had one turnover in our favour; they had six, seven? After the try-saving tackle, I'd like to see Izzy and McCloskey as a centre partnership! Too ma...

Thanks for the first post, Bloom. It all comes down to money, doesn't it! By that I mean both the cash being available and people being willing to spend it in this way.

Never a truer word... sadly.

I wouldn't quite put all the older players in the same basket but the last part is spot on.

My reckoning is that all on here are loyal Ulster fans who care. Nobody is going to be rushing off to support the Mexicans instead. As has been shown buying in expensive NIQ players is not the panacea for the problems. The problems are systemic and need a root and branch change. It will take time b...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

And there's the rub. Good coaches in a good school set-up lead to good players feeling the pleasure of playing and developing a vision and aspirations. Good players in a poor set-up with poor coaches get fed up. Passionate engagement becomes frustration, no real hunger to continue after school and a...
