And we complain about it......

I came across this post on the Ballymac Glentoran Supporters Club website - very interesting. Ulster Rugby I went to Ravenhill last night for the Ulster game and I think the Directors "of" and "for" things at the Oval should go too! It was easy to see why this weekly sporting eve...

Some good points pwr. I've advocated for some time now singing just Irelands Call - home and away. The only problem is the arrangement of it that is used at matches: Verse 1 Chorus Small confusing gap Chorus again, usually missing the first few words - it's a total disaster, people don't know when t...

Give me contacts anyday, I've been wearing them for about 10 years now and wouldn't be without them. Took me about a week to get used to them. Contacts don't get wet when it's raining and don't steam up in the winter! Only problem I have with them is sitting in a pub with someone who is smoking - it...

Aarons, the Orange Order has members in many countries with no connection/ allegiance to the British crown at all. On the question of identity, in a united Ireland, I would have to accept (reluctantly) that the flag of my new country was the Tricolour and my anthem had changed. I believe in democrac...

Aarons, if a majority of the people of Northern Ireland voted for unity I would have to accept it - like it or not. Those southern Protestants who found themselves living in the Irish Free State following partition had to accept it and get on with it - even though so many of them looked upon themsel...

Disco, either you're a nipper or I'm getting old (or both). In the dim distant mists of time ....... Any touring side would play against at least 2 or 3 of the Irish provinces before they turned out against the boys in green in Dublin. I've seen New Zealand play Ulster at least 3 times, the Aussies ...

Aarons, the reason that " They play the British anthem and fly the British flag " is quite simple, Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, it is the anthem of the UK and the flag of the UK that is used. " From a distance, it seems disingenuous to suggest that the IFA is welcom...

It’s hard watching them win. Every true Irishman has something in his genetic makeup that rebels against the thought. Anyone but them. Anyone but those arrogant b@st@rds. Its not that we actively hate them. Most of us would be hard pressed to even dislike them. Truth be told, we quite like them. T...

The Friar Tuck is still going strong - top of Bloomfield Road, junction of North Road/Grand Parade.

What about the Bethany on the Newtownards Road? or The Hot Spot in Ballyhackamore?

I assume next season when they sponsor the Celtic League, you won't go to any matches as a matter of principle? I assume by your "logic" that I am being disloyal to Ulster by banking elsewhere than BoI? When Smithwicks sponsored the team, I didn't drink the stuff because I don't like beer....
