Re: Ulster v All Blacks 1989
Not only was I there, I had the privilege of meeting the aforementioned Mr Tuigimala at the Culloden the night before the game. I'm no stick insect, but the man was a brick outhouse! He was only a callow youth then too! Before Lomu came along he was the iconic 'Inga the Winger'

Stand up for the city boys!
What about that then, Cooke win the Junior Cup for the first time in 20 years with a 20 - 3 victory over Clogher Valley.

Jimmy D
I can only echo the sentiments expressed everywhere about Jimmy D. I knew him, firstly, through his daughter Christy, with whom I went to school and through my father who has long been linked with the Ulster Branch and was President around the time Jimmy was coach of Ireland. Secondly I got to know ...

Great post, (but then we would say that wouldn't we. Gits that we are!?) : It highlights one of the most resiliant qualities in true sportsfans - namely that they recognise and support other true fans. A very much appreciated piece of support from the Leinster fans that should be applauded, remember...

Re: Fanning speaks...
Quotes from Fanning, Fingers will be pointed at Ulster supporters after the incident in Toulouse The Ulster fans have earned something of a reputation for themselves. Countless Ulster players before and after Tweed have had to endure the same ritual The other side of the Ulster fans' loyal support h...

I dislike the Fanning article immensely. It seems to be saying that because the Ulster crowd have been a wee bit raucous and seemingly more football like in their behaviour, that TB was justified in doing what he did. It doesn't outright say it, but it is at the least sympathetic to this opinion. Yo...

Having not seen the Sue Mott piece before posting, I feel sure that I was just saying what a lot of people had been thinking before. The piece is a good bit of journalism. The response from Brennan has, at least, the mitigating factor of being prompt. However it is all too inadequate at this junctur...

Brennan's Zidane Defence
I have not posted, until now, about the ridiculous attack by Brennan. However I couldn't help myself after reading the Toulouse side of the story and after hearing the RTE piece with Jamesie and Brennan's uncle. It is the end of his career, (Brennan's, not Jamesie's!), he should never again be allow...

I have to comment on this topic. As an ex-YDO I was involved in coaching rugby in a wide range of schools including many 'Maintained' or Catholic schools. I have the proud boast that I am the only rugby coach to have worked in St Pats Dungiven. (I think) Edmund Rice, La Salle, St Josephs Crumlin etc...

I reckon Ballpark is one of the wee lads who run onto the pitch at the end of matches and so his post is concerning the stigma of being the only one caught and biffed by an EventSec stormtrooper! Only thing I can think of to explain the 'Jack Kerouac' style cryptic post that started this all off. :l...
