Re: What annoys people????

On a related issue. 'Lionesses', etc Why do international teams have to have a wee name? Why can't they just be called England or whatever? I feel a certain amount of the blame for this lies with the New Zealanders. And the Aussies have taken it to extreme, but I worry that it is spreading to otherw...

Commonwealth Games 2022

Anybody found anything worth looking at?

I've had to give up on the boxing on moral grounds.

When's the bowls on?

That's all I usually watch - anything I'm missing?

Re: ASK THE EXPERT

My understanding is that there is no reason why a NI team could not be entered into the CGs. The IRFU choose not to. Probably something to do with them hating nordies.

paddybrown wrote: Thu Jul 21, 2022 10:12 am One thing puzzles me. Why is everyone saying McDonald is "Irish-qualified"? He's from Dundalk, so he's actually Irish, and Australian-qualified by residence.
Because he is Irish qualified. Being Irish has nothing to do with whether he can play for Ireland or not.

Re: And today, joining the underground .....

I see Ryan Jones is the latest high profile former player to have been diagnosed with early onset dementia aged just 41. This definitely seems to be becoming a pandemic of the modern professional game. With a few notable exceptions, this was nowhere near as prevalent back in the day. Higher impacts...

England deserved their win, but after the Ireland game, Aus v Eng looked like schoolboy rugby.

Re: A little bit of politics folks`

Politicians (and espec government ministers) tell lies all the time. It's part of the job. What sets this administration aside, is their inability to tell the same lie consistently, to make the lie remotely believable and to differentiate between lies that need to be told for the good of the country...

Appears to be part of lesson number 1 on how to deal with the Press.
Seemed to be very natural for Ruan and P3 too. I suspect normal expression in SA.

Re: Absent Friends

We’re in Berlin and just about to raise a glass to Stew McDowall who sadly passed on 16 June, having missed his funeral service today. He was the first to properly welcome us into the UR family and away trips, in particular, will never be the same again. It was a pleasure to be sitting next to him ...

Re: What annoys people????

They learned 'Look' from Muller. He was a master of dealing with Qs and I have no problem with them picking up on that. Lessons became learnings in the US. I hear the term in business too (and enjoy correcting it). Look - Going forward is annoying, but it is one of those stock phrases that they use ...
