I’d say it’s no coincidence that Murphy’s appointment was announced this week after three (scabby) wins….
The word from the camp though is that our lads are properly up for the game, as they should be.
That leaves us to ensure that our vocal cords are well lubricated in the sun tomorrow afternoon….

The fact that Conan is playing means he’ll be on the bench next week.
Jimmy (not Tommy) would likely play 15 if Keenan pulls up lame (as Frawley is even slower than me) and may bench if Leinster split 5 - 3 rather than 6 - 2.
Several of their backs are rapid which will trouble us.

Some of these posts make me laugh. Murphy has shown no more inclination to play the “pups” than was previously the case and quite rightly so. Dan slow played McCann perfectly to the extent that he’s been outstanding this season. We’ve only about 23 fit players left at the moment so selection philoso...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
Anyone else at this?
Just got home.
It was about 100 - 10 after the Septics scored with the last play.
Ulster decided to play with 14 for half the game.

Re: Squad depth 2024/25
Not the worst shout I’ve ever heard, whether that’s even on some kind of standby basis or what have you.
Still only 32.
As of last Saturday, TOT, Moore and Wilson were all injured so I hope Kyle hasn’t gone on his hols yet!
Most Academy props conspicuous by their absence from the game today.

Re: Squad depth 2024/25
Told to save a million apparently. Luckily, there must still be some money left to keep Shanners and Matty Rea. I wouldn't put Shanahan in the Matty Rea category. He's a decent player and value for money third option at 9. He rarely has a bad game, and the game speeds up when he's on. Honestly, he'...

Re: Squad depth 2024/25
The best thing Murphy has done so far is to try Izzy at 6, echoing, to an extent, Baird and Ahern at Leinster and Munster respectively (although Soper was first to try something similar here by leaving McCann out wide in his solitary game in charge). Big Stu didn’t say much of note on the Rugby Pod ...

Re: Squad depth 2024/25
The correct answer is that the decision to let him go was entirely logical at the time, due to question marks over his fitness and the financial constraints, but in the light of Hume’s injury and Addison’s decent showings in recent games, especially at 13, it would have been handy to keep him for an...

9 confirmed leavers in the Summer. Angus Curtis (Retired), Billy Burns (Munster), Steven Kitshoff (Stormers), Luke Marshall (Retired), Greg Jones, James French, Will Addison, Dave Ewers, Shea O’Brien I thought shea was contracted to 2025? I believe so. Could have come to an agreement, with the lad ...

Re: Squad depth 2024/25
I thought EOS had a great game on Saturday against the Scarlets. He played for the full 80 minutes and had a thundering run at the end of the first half - only to be taken down by a flying drop kick from Gareth Davies. I thought he scrummage well as well. I'm pleased he is staying - he looks to be ...

I was at the game at Bedford Blues in 2018.
Marcus Rea was excellent for half an hour before going off injured.
It remains the best thirty minutes I’ve seen him play.

He’s actually Austrian I believe so Big-Al could have got behind him.
