Re: Ulster v Connacht

24 hours later, still furious. Genuine question, how do professional coaches not realise after 10 mins that we need to flood the breakdown cause we’re getting smashed there? Like how was a message not sent on to the pack that for the next 10 mins their job is to hit every ruck as hard as they can? ...

Re: Ulster v Connacht

Incredibly depressing weekends rugby. I watched 4 Irish provinces - three were well-drilled, stalwart in defence and played some good attacking rugby, showed plenty of bottle and came up with the win. One looked utterly half-baked, were physically dominated, set piece completely malfunctioned, were ...

Re: Ulster v Connacht

I could cry, watching leinsters offensive ruck - compared to our absolute muck last night. What amounted to a series of one out carries against a well-set defence, with no support, against multiple poach threats [emoji2357]

Re: End of the road for Dan??

The more I think about this the more dire our situation seems. Leinster lose Lancaster after a few brilliant years, replace him with Nienaber - 2 of the best coaches in world rugby - and we’re stuck with McFarland, Bell and Soper [emoji2357] I’ve come around to thinking that McFarland is actually a ...

Re: Season highlights

Oh boy, now there is an eye opener - that OP is a great window into how we were sitting at the end of last season… by contrast I can’t think of a single genuinely impressive performance this year

Re: End of the road for Dan??

He has to go now right? Once again completely at sea tactically. Once again oversees a big choke. All the chat from the camp seems to be about how unremittingly grim the mood is, dysfunctional, chaotic, finger-pointing. Yes I know you can say you don’t have to be Mr Nice Guy to be a good head coach,...

Re: Ulster v Connacht

Absolute and utter disgrace of a performance. Remember Dan last year complaining about the try we should have had against Stormers which deprived us of a home semi - this year we get a path to a home semi (flukily because of our massive implosion mid-season) and then what happens? We choke. Unfortun...

Re: Contract Situation

So we are letting go JTA and Milo. Unless we have a cunning plan that is bizarre, not to say stupid. And I don’t think looking to any academy player for tighthead depth is realistic. I wonder if another loan is in the offing? That could potentially square what was said at the fans forum about no mor...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Well after watching his senior debut yesterday I have to say I called that one wrong!! He looked absolutely to the manor born. In fairness the Lions are the softest SA side, and in particular the loosest in defence so it wasn’t the sternest test, but still it was an extremely impressive performance....

Re: Big World of Rugby

Well saying you ‘don’t give a f***’ about woman’s rugby is an unnecessarily crass way to put it, it is also true of the rugby-viewing population at large… this is the unfortunate truth that women’s rugby advocates keep bumping into. The real world isn’t anything like rugby twitter or the BBC - where...

Re: Contract Situation

Well I have to say that the idea of losing JTA, and even Milo, even though he’s not great - to be replaced by some guy who couldn’t make the grade at renowned scrummaging fortress Munster and who is currently playing semi-pro in Aus is extremely [emoji51][emoji51] So much so that I can’t really beli...

Heineken Cup 2021/22 Other Sides

Well I’m delighted to see the SA sides get royally hoked today - SA fans on twitter put the Welsh in the shade when it comes to whining and crying about being robbed by the ref / TMO / anyone except their own performance [emoji849] Ironic given that the only genuine cases of hometown officiating tha...

Re: Contract Situation

I wonder what the going rate is for the likes or Curtis, Moxham and Sexton? Are Ulster paying top dollar for squad filler and fringe players? Read my earlier post … according to reports £100,000 for those top players not in IQ contracts of which we only have two sooner to be one probably non if the...
