Re: Ulster MOTM v Ospreys

R Baloucoune for me not that he had a sparkling performance but because he was the player I watched most closely to see if his injury had affected his game --and with so much at stake I consider he played as well as the circumstances allowed him. The rest of the players in the first half defended w...

Re: All the best Cooney.

Couldn't help but wonder about Cooney's thoughts when hearing the gushing praise from Sexton about Casey after Saturday's romp in Rome, falling from effectively nr 2 to now vying for nr 4/5/6 with Marmion/Blade, in less than a year, that is a fall. In fairness, I thought he was outshone on Friday by...

Re: Contract Situation

Ferris is really beginning to get under my skin with his comments. Tonight after the Edinburgh v Munster game he stated that Connacht could still catch Munster and play Leinster in the final even though they are 9 points behind Munster. Ulster does not get a mention even though we are only 5points ...

Re: All the best Cooney.

Covid must be a nightmare for the school bully. Not these new-fangled cyber bullies; rather the traditional old-school bully who would stick your head down the bog and steal your dinner money. Bullies are cowards. Many are the memories I have from my alma mater, one of our ‘elite’ grammar Royal sch...

Re: Contract Situation

Pleased to see Madigan renew his contract. A year ago I wouldn't have believed that I would be saying that but I have warmed to his effort and commitment and talent. A sustained partnership in the halfbacks would be good. I feel there will be many Ulster supporters if honest will be saying exactly ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

Just on my point 1. about the forwards doing ok, I omitted the abysmal defence of the line out maul, but stupid penalties allowed the line outs in the first place, nevertheless poor given that it was an issue against Gloucester as well so presumably was coached all week!

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

Slept on it, reflections: 1. Forwards held up well, on balance +/- parity, pity Moore went off 2. Jordi getting well deserved praise, but a shout for Greg Jones, unheralded but did nothing wrong and much right 3. Agree with comments about Coetzee, needed him to get the heed down and drive like feck ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

Highlight of the game for me, the ref, who had a good game, telling Sexton that he didn’t know why he was shaking his head and to get on with the game, loved that...

Forecast minus 4 degrees tonight and tomorrow, that's cold, frozen pitch a risk anyone any idea, we should send down the Ravenhill leaf blowers maybe?

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

Home win. Move on. Nothing like giving you team full hearted support! I think our guys will be up for this one. To quote Frank Carson: "It should be a cracker". My heart fully supports them. My head thinks we will lose. Fair enough - you might be right! We've been here a few times and the formula f...

Re: Ulster v Munster Sat Jan 2 5:15pm KO

I'm afraid there's going to be a massive asterisk against all the half-baked comps this season. That probably means we're going to win one of them [emoji38] It would be underlined as well in BOD's notebook. It can be underlined as much as he wants. In 98/99 his team was in a certain competition and...

Re: Connacht v Ulster Sun Dec 27th KO 7:35pm

A word about Kyle McCall and others in his position, harsh words are spoken by many but imagine how he must have felt walking to the sideline and then when told he wasn’t coming back on, after 20 minutes on the pitch. First saw him playing 18 years ago on the same school side as my lad, my boy tall ...

Re: Heineken Round 2 Gloucester Away Sat Dec 19 3:15pm

I’m not sure we’re so far away and it was insightful to see what it meant to the Gloucester lads to win, we were a scalp, no doubt and remember that effectively both sides were only shooting at best for the Challenge Cup at the start. I remember a few close losses in Europe by Munster and Leinster, ...

Re: Heineken Round 2 Gloucester Away Sat Dec 19 3:15pm

Have lost 3 posts so far so this will be short and curtailed. (Why are you cheering ??!!) Lost another game we should have won. Great effort especially when down to 13 men. But street smarts are poor both from players and management. Sorry Dan but you should have subbed O'Sullivan before that last ...
