Re: Ulster Rugby and the DUP

Seriously, Neill? This is a dreadful idea. One thing Slogan got right was to purposely have no flegs and no politics at Ravenhill. Doesn't matter which party it is, they shouldn't be able to bring the politics of this sorry place (or the sorry politics of this place) into the home of Ulster rugby, I...

Re: The Playoffs

As it should be, Merv. Those people who were prepared to spend their hard-earned cash on season tickets, for a season when predictions were very gloomy, deserve to get rewarded by being able to buy two tickets to a big match like this.

Re: Glasgow Vs Ulster Fri 5th April @ 7.35pm Premier Sports

Been to Firhill (Partick) a couple of times for Ulster matches (Fir Park is Motherwell's ground, Rocky). Also been to Scotstoun a few times and it is second only to RDS for my most disliked ground. Best Glasgow ground I've been to (also a couple of times) was Hughenden - a bit like watching Glasgow...

Re: Glasgow Vs Ulster Fri 5th April @ 7.35pm Premier Sports

I went to one Glasgow game, was it in Partick Thistle's ground? Dump Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk I, too, was at Fir Park, Jackie and I concur. My memory is that there were far more Ulster supporters than Glasgow ones. Don't like Scotstoun either because of the running track. Also, it is in ...

Re: Darren Cave

Actually, Rum, for a pro centre, his injury profile is extremely good in comparison to his peers. Also, his scoring record speaks for itself - 45 tries in 225 appearances. Only Trimble, Bowe and Gilroy are above him. In terms of try assists (giving the scoring pass), he is easily the best in the pro...

Their strongest squad? Certainly will be a big challenge over there. A very potent back line. If we can win this one it will be some performance.

Re: Mexico Vs Ulster KO 5.45pm BT Sport 3

Just watched the match back there. For all the talent young Lowry has I wonder does he have the physical attributes for modern rugby. He's not for the want of trying to be fair to him. In the last 20 minutes he lost 4 up and unders between his own 22 and 10 metre line as well as being badly overpow...

Re: Mexico Vs Ulster KO 5.45pm BT Sport 3

My analysis of that (if true) is that he had a complete dislocation of the knee joint. Very rare in rugby but I have seen it twice before. It's a horrendous injury. Almost certainly has done damage to his menisci (cartilages) as well. If he can make a good enough recovery to get back to professional...

Re: Mexico Vs Ulster KO 5.45pm BT Sport 3

I think it's fair to say the rugby community in Leinster is fairly shattered by Dan's bad news. The print media are not discussing it which is understandable. Maybe the medics can do something for him. The good wishes of Ulster fans are much appreciated. I think you can take it with a high degree o...

Re: Dragons Away

Some slightly odd marking from Sadlier. 6 for Ross and 5 for Wee D. 4 for Cave. Only Eric was deemed worthy of a score above 7. He must have eaten an extra banana before the game. Slightly odd doesn't start to describe that nonsense from Sadlier. I would give him a score of 2 for his perceptive ana...

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20

Alex Thompson looked very good for Banbridge against Malone a couple of weeks ago. He had to go off shortly after halftime and it made a big difference to the match to Malone's benefit.
Think he may be a loss to Ulster.

Me too, Rooster. One of the things I remember about it (apart from the great music) was the haze of happy smoke floating above the crowd! A legendary gig!

Sounds as though the Ospreys may be on the way out unless the WRU rescue them.

Because he had a Brumbies contract and we can't afford £40k a month.
