Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Seems to be a persistent rumour that Leinster (Irfu pressure) will be moving on a BR...Deegans name has been mentioned. We are definitely 1 light for 1st team selection. Anymore developments re Nordi contract?

Re: 6N 2020

Some thoughts: Cian Healy looks like a tired prop with a lot of miles on the clock. Although I’m not fully convinced re kilcoyne as a long term starting solution, I think Healy is a shadow of his former self....and on borrowed time - I’d give him the it game off. Toner isn’t the way forward for this...

Re: 6N 2020

Naturally family comes first & I wish him and them the very best. For me he is a critical player for Ire against big packs, a real loss in the physical stakes. I’m interested to see how Dillane will perform, very talented when first appeared, but kind of not kicked on. The bench pack now looks very ...

Re: 6N 2020

I concur Big Merv,
Bono is a total shaft, although please let’s not exclude Geldof either....nothing like a multi millionaire tax avoider to spout moralised brad pitt about how I should live my life in a more meaningful way.

Re: Dan Tuohy - Rugby 'rotten from the core'

Once had a good chat to him after the clermont game in 2011, his dad & friends had gone over to watch - he came across as a good fella. I always got the impression he enjoyed his time at ulster, although his departure may have left a bad taste ( am I right in saying he wasn’t a big fan of LK, and le...

Re: Ospreys v Ulster Sat Feb 15

For me it was a penalty all day long. That said we should never have been in that position in the match anyway, where that one brain fart cost the game. We should have pinned them as much as possible in their 22, giving them defensive line outs In Those high winds and put on a jumper at the front, a...

Re: Ospreys v Ulster Sat Feb 15

Ospreys won the physical battle. Our kicking strategy was dreadful. We should have kicked the corners & made ospreys throw in the lineout from deep. Johnston was pretty good, burns was tom kite, and showed cooney needs to hold his hand. Shanahan wasn’t helped by osp not rolling away at the breakdown...

Re: 6N 2020

Undoubtedly the injuries effected Ireland, and adding energy from bench as game went on. That said Larmour was good. Henderson played v well with some big tackles, turnovers, and a v good lineout performance. Stander fair play filled in nicely at 8, I dislike the Balance of the backrow though. Aki d...

Re: 6N 2020

Cooney runs the show for UR, not 10, and no need to mention RP prior. URs gameplan isn’t implemented by 10, its 9. If JC went off script & was a liability DMcF would have him out the door, simple fact is we play from him not Burns. Sexton wants control & call shots....understandably. The last thing ...

Re: 6N 2020

I’d have had Addison over henshaw however I can understand the possible thinking behind it. If Larmour is injured Conway covers 15, Henshaw could do a job on the wing. If a centre goes down henshaw can play 12/13, has played with both centres & both 10s obviously, giving continuity. If Addison was p...

Re: 6N 2020

If JL is fit to play I’d be surprised if he’s on the wing. He is now the Lein 1st choice 15, has he actually played wing in last 3 mths? Frankly I’d think it a waste personally. I’d want him on the ball in space with his electric footwork & low centre of gravity, as much as possible. I’d be telling ...

Re: 6N 2020

It’s a question of balance & preference. If toner is selected to assist the new hookers at the lineout, then You really need a 2nd carrier in the back row, as the pack overall will be short. VdF Pom stander was a bad combo, lightweight, and only stander carried - and he was expected every time by th...

Healy herring furlong Ryan toner Stander Doris VdF Cooney Sexton Henshaw ringrose Stockdale Larmour Conway. Kilcoyne kelleher porter Henderson POM Murray Byrne Addison This is my likely side, on basis primarily this is about Winning the 6ns not experimenting. No real surprises in front row. Herring ...
