Re: Heineken Cup seeding.

Sky have got their hands on the report. Over £2m overspend a yr, every yr. Ashton got 20% of a 1.6m joint property investment - he paid the money back. Itoje was deliberately over paid for his image rights 250k? Wigglesworth - 250k Vunipolas - 450k Really bad look for the players. I’d be seething if...

Re: Heineken Cup seeding.

I can’t see the Irfu sanctioning any eng international signing. I’d be surprised if any players end up at the provinces. Will any of them fit in available budgets? I’m doubtful.
Id rather see gametime for younger players..... now where those younger players come from is another thing!

Re: Ulster v Bath

Sounds like game time for younger O’Connor...he seems to have had a few decent reports.

Dalton/Regan fallen off a cliff?.....not heard anything this season re the pair of them?

Re: Ulster v Bath

If Gilroy was unfit he wouldn’t be near the match day 23. His tackle stats aren’t great, however he was never particularly good defensively....let’s be honest. I doubt he’ll be retiring. His form is patchy to say the least, but I wouldn’t be writing him off yet. He needs a good run of game time. Whe...

Re: Heineken Cup seeding.

Personally I think the rumours of a 2 mil overspend is an under estimate....that may be part reason why there is no agreement to disclose the accounts/audit. Let’s say it was 4 mil, and has been consistently that for several yrs. compare their squad to any French big spender, there won’t be that muc...

Re: Heineken Cup seeding.

I’ll be very interested to watch that game. I was at the final last yr. the reason Leinster lost wasn’t ringrose butchering a 4 on 1, in many ways they did well to still be in it til 55mins. (He had a shocker). What was noticeable early on and became more and more pronounced as the game went on was ...

Re: Ulster v Bath

RBs catching is fine, however he clearly needs to develop a kicking game to reach the top level. What is noticeable is that he keeps his width, creating a large whole around the 13 channel. I hope he occasionally comes closer in for an easier pass from 13, rather than a bounce pass....and trust hims...

Re: ULSTER MOTM vs Bath

WA. Big creative influence for the backline. Scored 1, made 1. He is injury prone, prone to getting isolated & turned over, however he creates so much, the rest need to read him better. Best 15 by a mile at UR, & our 2nd playmaker.

Re: Ulster v Bath

We were 3rd gear today. Handling was poor at times. I wasn’t too concerned re the lineout today however a few worrying points. The scrum was dire. TOT is 18mths short, without MM we are in big trouble. The injury to G Milo is hurting us. R Kane isn’t really the answer unfortunately at this level. I ...

Re: Ravenhill crowd/attendance

Excellent news....along with Flybe surviving long enough to get me to Belfast & back to Brum. Looks decentish weather Sat, so hopefully conditions conducive to an open game. Hopefully TOT & RK can anchor that scrum for a decent platform to attack off. :red:

Re: ASM Clermont Auvergne Vs Ulster Sat 11th Jan @ 1.00pm BT Sport 3

We need to get the lads home ASAP. I suspect MM & WA won’t be fit for Bath. I think we are still more than capable of a bp win. Bath put out a 2nd string at home to quins, so I’d imagine they’d do the same away next week. Bath also have big league game v Leic the following week. A light physical wee...

A few thoughts for the support staff.

What are people’s thoughts? There has been comments not always positive re support staff over last couple of seasons - so I thought I’d chuck my 2p in re where we are currently: From a forwards point of view the obvious room for improvement is the lineout -SC injury & all round improvement has maybe...
