Re: Toulouse v Ulster Heineken QF

The season was a success. Euro QF backed up from last yr, & league final appearance achieved - improvement from last yr. Form has been pretty poor admittedly - however an away semi win against Edinburgh will hopefully be good for squad development. The last 2 weeks have been a reality check, however...

Re: Edinburgh vs ULSTER MOTM

Some great performances - but for me, MC. He may not have won the game for UR, but made sure Edinburgh didn’t. His turnovers and general abrasiveness made sure Edinburgh didn’t get dominance upfront.....had they, we’d have been sunk (esp with IH missing). Delighted that so many fellas put their hand...

Re: Semi Final Edinburgh v Ulster Sat Sep 5 7:35pm

:red: Please tell me Mads is walking around the pitch crying🙏....new UR hero👍. On a serious note, without IH we lack serious strength in the pack, and without WA the backline lacks that creative quality. The result tonight is another step forward for the squad, away knock out win, final appearance -...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Is there an attitude problem with it?
Is there a refusal to play/attempt play to a script?
We all know talent is just part of the mix. Has there been UR contact and they’ve thought better of it, for one reason or another?

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20

Could the option of retaining Alby for a second season be a possibility? Perhaps Shanahan May leave end of next season, and push on the youngsters? Personally I don’t think Cooney will have a particularly long Ire career maybe 12/18months. I think he is a quality professional, brilliant for us, but ...

Re: David Humphreys leaving Gloucester

If I was at LI I’d be lifting the phone to him asking his plans. Kidney & Kiss I think will be going into their final yr of contract? Definitely room for improvement across the board for me - has the experience of building a club. As an aside, happy retirement to Willie Anderson. Good to read the od...

Re: RTÉ Best Professional era XV

Court Best Afoa Henderson Muller (c) Ferris Williams Coetzee Ruan Jackson McCloskey Cave Trimble Payne Piatau The lineout probably wouldn’t be the best. SMcC at 12 to give me gainline, and JP at 15 as a 2nd playmaker to compensate (absolute tragedy he wasn’t Ireland’s 15) CP too good a player to mis...

PJ kindly presented an award at our virtual rugby club awards night.

“I’ve not had a welcome like this for a while” 😂😂😂

Really good gesture-good to see him on top form.

PJ is alive and well

PJ very kindly did a virtual prize giving vid for my club Harborne RFC as our annual dinner is obviously on the back burner. The lads managed to wrangle Tindall Robshaw Greenwood Nonu O’Brien & PJ. PJs vids are up at his usual standard. 👍

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Seems to be a persistent rumour that Leinster (Irfu pressure) will be moving on a BR...Deegans name has been mentioned. We are definitely 1 light for 1st team selection. Anymore developments re Nordi contract?

Re: 6N 2020

Some thoughts: Cian Healy looks like a tired prop with a lot of miles on the clock. Although I’m not fully convinced re kilcoyne as a long term starting solution, I think Healy is a shadow of his former self....and on borrowed time - I’d give him the it game off. Toner isn’t the way forward for this...

Re: 6N 2020

Naturally family comes first & I wish him and them the very best. For me he is a critical player for Ire against big packs, a real loss in the physical stakes. I’m interested to see how Dillane will perform, very talented when first appeared, but kind of not kicked on. The bench pack now looks very ...

Re: 6N 2020

I concur Big Merv,
Bono is a total shaft, although please let’s not exclude Geldof either....nothing like a multi millionaire tax avoider to spout moralised brad pitt about how I should live my life in a more meaningful way.
