Re: Richie Murphy - right man for the job?
I think it’ll be fascinating how the coaching dynamic will work. Murphy has already thrown his hat in the ring for the job permanently, and mentioned looking for houses in Belfast….not just a diplomatic “let’s see where we are end of the season” and lots of stakeholders involved in the process stuff...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
I think he could become a bit of a cult hero With the crowd. Player wise he’s very combative, great aggressive attitude to boot. He’s a good un for me.
Frankly does anyone have a definitive squad for next season? WK has that utility side to him, which is likely needed with our injury profile.

Re: New Signing - Werner Kok
Nice and aggressive. 100% makes most of the talent he’s got, which I think will be good for training standards. He’s a good signing for me, as long as he can stay fit.

Re: Contract Situation
Could understand on paper with Ewers playing profile could be beneficial BUT ultimately his legs have gone those 200+ prem games have added up, and he wasn’t the fastest anyway to start with.
It’ll be interesting what Murphy does with them til end of season.

Re: 6 Nations 2024
16pts…..the same as 4 non bp wins. With the away fixtures to fr/eng, this is the trickier of the 2 fixture routes. Eng/ire can ultimately be traced back to set piece, breakdown, and power. Ire had an unstable slow platform that stopped/disrupted their strike moves, and badly effected their fast mult...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
WK whenever I’ve seen him gives 100%, plays with real intensity, and has an edge to him. Might be a v decent signing if the finances work, and push standards off the pitch. SMcC would be turning his back on Ire selection, although he may be 4th choice, he is featuring fairly regularly for ire the la...

[quote=HammerTime post_id=735497 time=1708543586 user_id=1886] Gilroy must have had a heads up that Dan was on thin ice. As we hadn't heard anything from him before last weekend. Aye, he was smirks and innuendo with Anscombe. At that stage I was glad it was br...

Re: Ospreys away Sunday 18th Feb 3pm
The issue re Kitschoff and leadership for me is he’s barely got his feet under the table. Above him are a tom kite coaching and management group. There maybe things he is deeply unhappy about, but he could do a sexton at R92 and alienate a lot of people quickly. I’m not so sure I’d want the gig if I...

Re: Ospreys away Sunday 18th Feb 3pm
Some thoughts no real good order: Firstly ospreys have been on a decent run at home, not the easy result some may have anticipated. The result was no surprise whatsoever, I was actually amazed we were ahead with 2mins to go. The early injuries to Moore and Henderson definitely effected our grunt in ...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
Yeah I did think re Beirne playing. Ultimately I wouldn’t be concerned either way. 3 weeks is a decent break for him if selected and his breakdown work would be very useful. Ultimately there are good replacements in Henderson/Ryan both I’d take over the welsh locks, if they benched or rested him. th...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
I’d go potentially something like this: Porter Sheehan bealham McCarthy Ryan Baird Doris VdF Jgp Crowley Mccloskey henshaw Lowe Frawley Nash Loughman Kelleher TOT Henderson Conan Murray Byrne Ringrose Overall wales lack a decent pack, decent backrow but underpowered front 5, hence a 5/3 split. Lough...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
I wouldn’t play Keenan v wales, absolutely no chances taken with him. Wales don’t have the kicking game to really hurt Ire (ie territory wise pinning them back etc), or the pack to put the squeeze on frankly. I genuinely can’t see a realistic way wales would set up to beat Ire. He’s a super fit lad,...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
Re 6ns standards it’s been crap, in fact a really poor watch. I think wales are in real trouble they don’t have a good front 5. Yes it’s a rebuild but I actually think they may have to go down the Scot route and find some saffers or argies re props. Eng issue is borthwick, his philosophy is conserva...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
I have to say I was expecting this to be a tougher tournament for Ireland - 3 potentially tough games to go, but you have to say Ireland look a cut above so far. Farrell seems to be a phenomenal coach, in fact the whole ticket just seem to be absolutely on it. It seems like whatever Irish team gets...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
Great stuff by the wee fella doing the singing. Did that fat mascot not want to be there or something? Brown-nose Lowe gave his medal to Farrell's son. He really should have given it to the wee lad who was the de facto MOTM in the eyes of the public. First time we've "won" the anthems sin...
