Re: And today, joining the underground .....

Don't want to steal Burts thunder but just read today that I passed away. It came as a sudden shock to me discovering it as a footnote on the BBC news. Gutted I never got to finish my latest project "Carry on Ulster Rugby" but too many people didn't want to. Real shame because Ulster rugby...

Re: Old School v New

It's just those points you guys make that kind of backs up what I mentioned in my original post. They are all doing the same thing. If it's tries off loads and handling you want just go to the 7s circuit. If it was all so invigorating to the public then why the empty seats? I just prefer my defences...

Re: Old School v New

Liz looking a those highlights the thing that stands out is how much of the attacking play came initially from set scrums -- where the pack was consolidated and not spread across the pitch. What is lacking in the modern game is the frequency of the set scrum basically because both front rows are pi...

Re: Old School v New

Willie John wouldn't get a game for Ulster this Saturday Way too old. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Joking asides Willie John would probably be a prop in modern rugby. Forwards loose play is incomparable as they hunted as an 8 man pack back in the day whereas now it's a general rule of 3, co...

Re: Old School v New

The amateur era and the pro era are different sports. Right there that's the problem. They really aren't. Rugby can learn a thing or 3 from the players coaches and teams of yesteryear. Instead they are confusing old for dated. In terms of camaraderie and team building we could learn something from ...

Old School v New

Any preferences? Personally I think more than ever rugby has lost its soul and any form of ingenuity. Everyone is doing the same thing but the best teams just do it better. Back in the day teams were distinctive by their styles and geniuses were allowed to express their brilliance. Nowadays they are...

Re: USA Perpignan 2018/19

Very naive loose play from Perpignan. PJ did well considering the chaos and his time out. Hopefully as he establishes himself he is allowed to impose structure to their play. Also I hope their coach realises that putting front rowers in decision making areas doesn't work in the Northern Hemisphere a...

Re: ECB moves on quick....

Will be interesting to see what the ECB’s own review determines over the coming weeks about bringing the game into disrepute etc. Whilst he was cleared of all charges and has “suffered” financially from missing the Ashes I would imagine there will be some pressure to ensure that something further i...

Re: USA Perpignan 2018/19

I think it was Shakespeare who said " When two tribes go to war, one is all that you can score,"
It bears no less relevance today then when he lived over 1000 years ago.

Re: Replacement 10

Whether he is guilty or not Cipriani continually puts himself in these situations time and time again over the years so people lose sympathy. Our lads were guilty of naiveity but if they were to allow strange unvetted women into their immediate intimate social company again you would have to questio...

Re: ECB moves on quick....

I thought it was more common for feminist activists to support those accused of public order offences. They will back the female. So the co-accused in this (hypothetically altered) case? No affray. All those charged walk free. I'm not referring to the case or verdict but the so called public outcry...
