Re: Ulster v Connacht Saturday September 17 7.35pm UK Time Premier Sports / BBC2NI / TG4
Can’t think of a time recently where we’ve won so convincingly with 10/15 players being home grown and a further 2 through the academy - some good depth building at last by the looks of it! EOS is back to his best. Stewart looks excellent. Marshall was probably the pick of the backs, tho Moore had s...

So judging by the A team announcement for Friday night, Sheridan, McDonald, Flannery, Lyttle, Telfer and O’Brien won’t be in the team for Connacht, they they were the only ones with a realistic shout tbh.

Re: Ulster v Connacht Saturday September 17 7.35pm UK Time Premier Sports / BBC2NI / TG4
I take it neither team will have any their internationals back? Round 2 apparently if fit, timed in conjunction with the players going off to South Africa on this dog and pony show tour. These first 4 rounds it looks like we’ll be quite stretched then… it’s going to be an interesting team selection...

Re: Ruan Pienaar
The irony still gets me that we had to get rid of Pienaar to make way for an IQ 9 and we get Cooney who has consistently been one of the best SH in Europe and yet Ireland refuse to pick him absolute joke!

Re: players who might not make the plane to France
At the minute I’d say this is how the squad is shaping up. Gonna be some serious talent left at home, especially in the back 3! 1. Porter 2. Furlong 3. Healy 4. Bealham 5. Kilcoyne/O’Toole 6. Kelleher 7. Sheehan 8. Herring 9. Hendy 10. Beirne 11. Ryan 12. Treadwell/Baird 13. Van Der Flier 14. Doris ...

Re: Ireland ? in New Zealand
Much more comfortable win than the score line suggests, a way better performance from last time out. From an Ulster POV, O’Toole played fairly well, nothing flashy but held up the scrum, made his tackles and played 75 mins. Treadwell and Timoney were excellent - Treadz with a brilliant steal 5m from...

Re: Ireland ? in New Zealand
Both Healy and Loughman looked to take knocks, so Ireland might to reinforce their loosehead options. Healy looked to really improve the scrum so would be a shame if he’s ruled out, I don’t like the thought of Loughman coming on against the All Blacks. We need to call up an experienced operator who ...

Re: Next season's Heineken Cup
I know it’s just the luck of the draw, but it’s a bit of a farce that the Prem, URC, Top 14 and champions cup winners are all in the same conference (And of course it’s the same one Ulster are in)

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
I never thought I’d say this but I actually think Andy Warwick is unlucky not to be in the squad. If Ire are looking for a solid backup to Porter, I think Warwick would hold his own. He’s certainly had a much better season than Healy and Loughman, who aren’t even 1st choice for their club.

Re: Edinburgh v Ulster Saturday April 30th 7:35pm KO Premier Sports 2 / URC TV / Super Sport
Considering we’re the first side to go and win at the DAM, I’m surprised to see so much negativity on here. I for one am delighted we held on at the end there, that was some serious pressure. We weren’t perfect, far from it, but we ground out the win and that’s all we needed tonight. Thought we show...

Re: Toulouse v Ulster H Cup Round of 16 1st Leg Saturday April 9th 3:15pm KO (UK Time) BT Sport 3/beIN SPORTS/ France 2
Flip me my heart rate at the end there. Even with a 13 point lead with 30 seconds to go I was still not comfortable. Some win to get there in the end. Andy Warwick was immense off the bench. Job half done, 6 point lead is an excellent result going into the second leg, but Toulouse are so dangerous a...
