Re: Benetton v Ulster Saturday January 7 1pm KO (UK Time) Viaplay (Premier) Sports 1 / URC TV / Super Sport
From the outside it seems as if Ulster are crying out for leadership since Best retired. Henderson is a super player, but he doesn’t seem to have that ability to galvanise others. There is a sense the team is somewhat missing its soul, there is no one players the others rally around, none of the sen...

Re: Ulster v La Rochelle - Saturday (Sunday?) Ravenhill (RDS?)
Disappointing a pitch inspection couldn't have waited until this morning given the forecast for temperatures to improve. The teams could still have travelled to Dublin later this morning if surface deemed unfit. Someone quoted cullan as saying the rds pitch was touch and go a few hours before kicko...

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022
I see the SA hooker is in hot water telling the ref to “ referee both sides “ To be honest I have a certain sympathy with the sentiment I have long had the view that in certain situations look for certain fouls — the two common calls are against defenders near the goal line off side or over the top...

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022
Ridiculous. I feel terrible for Marty. Yet another Ulsterman not getting a fair crack. FIRFU. At least he won’t get broken playing for arseh@les who don’t appreciate him. Farrell prefers mobile players, for all his undoubted ability in the scrum I don’t think you can accuse Marty of being overly mo...

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022
If Lukey is fit, he should have been straight in there. This is becoming farcical. Interesting viewpoint, I think you might well be in a minority of 1. Hes well down the depth chart IMO. If they’re looking for back 3/ OC cover. If you’re banging an Ulster drum Stockdale makes more sense. Lowry at a...

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides
I completely concur with the comments regarding the referee in this game and the standard in the URC. However, firstly, Sexton was moaning much earlier in the game and secondly, it does not achieve any positive result. If he does this with Ireland and/or with other referees he could be expensive. T...

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides
Talk of Johnny Sexton in the Ireland coaching setup is utterly misplaced. Bad-tempered and out of order and lacking self discipline in the way he speaks to colleagues and officials. Completely forgive him loosing his reason at a incredibly inept referee who has just overseen a passage of play where...

Re: 6 nations 22
Comparing Paddy to Mason Greenwood is a scurrilous statement and is worthy of action by the mods imo. What is this "background" that you speak of in relation to PJ?. Far as I'm aware it involved a sexual liaison between consenting adults and one fairly mild ( by the accepted standards of ...

Re: 6 nations 22
I wonder if the FIRFU clowns actually realise how colossally stupid they have been re. Paddy (and Stu). This is the best chance in years to win a grand slam but it all hinges on Sexton. If they hadn’t f¥cked Paddy over he would probably be first choice. Now, however, Carberry will get split in two ...

Re: 6 nations 22
The elephant in the room is that Carberry is injured almost as often as Sexton, the Irish management have invested hugely in him, you can afford one sick note 10 but not 2. Not seen news yet of another call up, imagine they’ll have someone travel as cover. Yes he’s really talented but the suspicion ...

Re: 6 nations 22
Think team selected is fair enough. Henderson would have been in if fit. Sheehan off the bench when people are tyring is just a lot more scary than Herring. Hume’s form has been rewarded, think Ringrose will prove hard to shift. Think McCloskey is the forgotten man in ways, his ability to break the ...
