Re: Sharks v Ulster Saturday 23rd March 1pm Kick Off Viaplay Sports

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but we need to stop this talk of "realistically having a chance to win the Parker Pen." Left in the competition are: -Glaws -Clermont -Benetton -Embra -Sale -Lions -Sharks -Connacht I'd fancy all 8 of those sides to beat us in our current state. And given we ...

Re: Sharks v Ulster Saturday 23rd March 1pm Kick Off Viaplay Sports

The coming fixtures now have serious heft- Can't see us winning: Stormers, Leinster Fighting chance of some points: Munster away- who knows which Munster turn up but they are on a roll, albeit against mediocre opposition Must wins: Cardiff (H) Benetton (H) Scaaalets (A) With Connacht and Benetton s...

Re: Sharks v Ulster Saturday 23rd March 1pm Kick Off Viaplay Sports

There's a fair chance we'll be 9th or 10th in the league by the end of next week. I cant remember who on here recently was trying to make the point that our squad quality is good and our demise was due to poor coaching. In my head, yesterday proves that our pack isn't particularly good and got pumpe...

So much for our international TH
I was never a subscriber of the ToT hype. Dan was right to always start Marty ahead of him imo, the guy just doesn't do well at scrum time.

Wilson needs to start next week.

Re: Sharks v Ulster Saturday 23rd March 1pm Kick Off Viaplay Sports

Well on a positive note, McCann was excellent. As was Wilson when he came on. Too many negatives though. Hume still acting the prat. Our pack looking laboured and lacking any injection of pace or power when carrying the ball. Not looking particularly dangerous in attack etc. etc. Murphy has his work...

Re: Sharks v Ulster Saturday 23rd March 1pm Kick Off Viaplay Sports

Looking forward to this. First outing in front of a new head coach, there will be no lack of effort or concentration to impress. Sharks will be up for it but seem to be worst coached team in SA. If we survive the physical battle we should have the better cohesion and put points on the board. Me too...

If we don't talk about them and pretend they don't exist . . . maybe their starting front row, and their replacements, won't eat ours?

Like the look of that team, especially Sheridan at 6. Dan would've had Matty there instead every day of the week.

How would you describe Flannery this season, or any of Doak's cameos at 10?

Mediocre might be better than those two at 10, because we ain't signing anyone.

I wouldn't be getting too giddy based on rosey-eyed expectations of Flannery coming good, or the fact that our backup 9 is also set to become our back up 10 . . .

Re: Ulster's finances

I'm from a mixed background, born in the late 80s into a prod town. I have no real dog in the constitutional fight. But I do believe that rugby being viewed as a prod sport, and the GAA being Catlick, the only way for these stereotypes to change is both sports being exposed to each other. Rugby type...

Re: Ulster's finances

Is Willie Falloon (poster, not ex player . . . allegedly) still on there, arguing tooth and nail for an Irish side filled with Ulsterman?
