Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides

If Ireland win in SA it really adds another nail into Leo's coffin - same players, different coach, different result - wouldn't bode well for plug?

Also concern for Goodman coming in as Ireland backs coach if he's currently in charge of Leinsters backs - toothless

Re: AIL Energia Leage Rugby/Ulster League

There was a huge gulf between Ballyclare / Skins and the rest last season. Dromore came good towards the end of the season after a dreadful start. Skins OH Keys away back to Uni will be a huge loss but they must start the season as favourites. Dromore have recruited very well players and coaches and...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

See Leinster are set to sign Rabah Slimani, to add to Snyman and Barrett. Can someone please explain how we are only allowed Kok or is there another coming? KOTH? I think it's more a case of we can't afford anymore, rather than we don't want anymore. Kitshoffs departure released the funds to re-sig...

Re: Squad depth 2024/25

When are we going to announce who we're signing? We knew LH was an issue for years, hence the signing of Kitshoff and now we appear to be just reverting back to it being a problem again. RE LHP would guess that a contract renewal for O'Sullivan will be announced shortly. In terms of other signings,...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

What a momumental mismatch and waste of time for both sides.

Would have been better off playing the Ulster Juniors against this lot.

As good as Izzys effort and endeavour was for the try saving tackle - it should have been a penalty try - you can't kick the ball out of someone's hands.

Totally missed by officials, commentators and pundits

Re: Football at Ravenhill?

How is this even possible on the 3G Carpet? The rugby markings are stitched into the carpet - IFA rules are that football can only be played on a "clean" 3G Pitch i.e. no other sports markings on the surface, and football markings in white. Unless they can temporarily aerosol out the rugby...

Re: Rate your top 5 foreign signings

John Afoa played 58 times over 3 seasons, majority of time playing the full 80 mins - he was outstanding in one of the best packs Ulster have fielded. Don't let the circumstances of his departure, and Logans spin, distort the impact he had on Ulster Rugby for those 3 years. It was the golden era of ...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

I really don't think there is anything to lose giving Dan Soper an opportunity to run the show. Players who played under him at various clubs and schools can't speak highly enough of him as a person, and as a coach, and importantly for such a young squad he coaches a player centric style and the pla...

Re: Contract Situation

The solution to the blazer problem is quite simple. Amateur and professional rugby should be totally divorced from each other Let the blazers continue to play happy families with club rugby. But they should have zero input in the professional game As for female representation on the existing rugby ...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

I’d happily take a saffer style character led coaching tkt: I’d doubt they’d be an issue around basic d, set piece and breakdown. I’d also imagine there would be a direct honesty around poor standards. The aim would be simple: a raise in standards, and young player development. No mediocre recontra...
