Re: Ruan becomes an Ulsterman

I see the ever faithful IH fan club are still at it If he was the player they believe him to be he would have played more games for Leicester and would still be playing for them The truth is he only plays to his full potential 1 game in 6 and its nothing to do with the quality of the 9 inside him he...

Re: Ireland vs Babas

It is my belief we might be better off without Rush (long term ) we have Diack Henry Ferris Pollock Falloon with Tuohy as a fit in if necessary. Rush- when the refs catch on to his illegal hand off ( straight forearm to the jaw which would be not out of place in the WWE) could be a red card machine ...

Re: Ireland vs Babas

I have been away awhile but with regards fridays game and the Ireland squad my take would be That in the first half Mcfadden and Duffy didn't communicate/defend effectively as a unit or individually and the forwards were thus having to defend behind the gain line going backwards with an inexperience...

Re: Positives & Negatives: Ireland V Scotland

can't really blame Rory for the crooked in --- the lineout had stopped functioning before the crooked calls were made thus the attempt at the assist with a crooked throw. Also Rory wasn't calling the line PoC was --- it is always a mistake to go long if the middle is not functioning --- if the lineo...

Re: Ireland - Scotland

Two things were wrong about the Irish fans view prior to the match Firstly we underrated Scotland because they were beaten by Italy away from home totally ignoring the fact they nearly beat Wales in Cardiff and held England to a draw in Scotland ( but of course all those teams are crud -- because we...

Re: Positives and negatives: Ire V Wales

My point is that BoD is a TEAM PLAYER Earls is an individualist take that out of him and you will lose the player its the fact that he has tunnel vision makes him effective on the wing less effective at full back and a possible liability in the centre. i don't think playing him in the centre will ch...

Re: Positives and negatives: Ire V Wales

shan the try is similiar to one scored by DH against Stade many years ago. One of the points being missed in my post is that many of Irelands trys come the timing of BoD's passes put Earls in the centre not only is the timing of the pass lost but the pass as well think of Wales last week think of Sc...

Re: Positives and negatives: Ire V Wales

Ulster throw in Earls reluctance ( in ability ? lack of awareness of team mates) to pass makes DK play him either at full back or wing and is also the reason he is not the person to replace BoD . I don't think the wings received a pass after Earls moved to centre last saturday and is also in my opin...

Re: Ireland v Scotland

My take on Hayes is coming into the 6Ns approaching 100 caps and being still good fro 60 -70 mins worthy of them give him a 6Ns---- and then seriously look for a replacement over the summer tour but I really can't see him there next year Buckley can play 20 - 30 mins and then he starts to lose inter...

Re: Ireland v Scotland

The only surprise is that Hayes is still there because to be honest watching him against the Welsh he looked knackered at the kick-off never mind at 50 mins its becoming embarrassing watching him shuffle across the pitch to stand blind side at the ruck. And the Scots will drop every scrum just to we...

Re: Positives and negatives: Ire V Wales

Why are Ireland scoring trys ? My explaination is that Sexton lies deeper than RoG and runs at back rows with the added dimension of Bowe being therefore able to come at pace either inside Sexton or outside him --- then add the recognised threat of BoD . the bonus factor is BoDs ability to time his ...

Re: Ferris actual world class

If you want to class a player as world class Then the best way to think about your assessment is If he was a New Zealander would he make the All blacks if South Africian the Springboks etc it not question of how well he plays against them but a question of if he was available to them would they play...
