Re: Serious Change Needed!!!

Is easy to kick a dog when it is down - but Ulster are playing like a dog. The opposition look at Ulster back line and wonder who are this crowd. They recognise Trimble, and he doesn't exactly strike fear. Pack is missing the mongrel for sure. Set piece play going well; otherwise we could be asking ...

Re: Matt McCullough

Darkside, are you just talking about Matt here. But talking about Matt, seems McCall, Steve Williams and then Matt Williams all continue to pick him. Oh, and he was in the frame for Ulster Player of the year last season. Oh and Rodger and N Best were allowed to leave last season. Oh and when the res...

Re: Cardiff v Ulster

Cant believe McCullough is getting a game. No-one picked him in their team, not even as a sub. Too slow by half.

Re: which young player do you think will break through

I thought that was an excellent question which could easily lead to off topic answers. I will try not to run off topic but my answer is contexted around the Ulster environment this coming season. I foresee the playing environment to be a place of much greater player self-accountability (otherwise Ma...

Re: Willie Anderson perhaps???

Steve Williams v Willie Anderson - is that not the point at issue? Personally, I have no idea what regard Williams is held in by the players - he being a good few years younger than Our Wullie, well how many miles does he have on the clock? You would like to think Willie has learned from his revious...

Attitude

Extract taken from Martin Johnson article in Daily Telegraph: "Martin Johnson, captain, rallying point, enforcer, last point of resistance and many things more on a windswept Wellington evening when England last tasted victory over an All Blacks side, home or away, back in 2003, was asked yeste...

Re: "I'm not leaving Ulster"

MW is a top rated coach - what he has done with Ulster is nothing more than steady the ship. If he had not been able to do that, goodness help us. 3 years away from your family, opposite end of the world, pretty much a full day commute, missed birthdays and school sports days and school concerts and...

Children - STOP IT! Remember the Ulster Board was discontinued for such nonsense.

Re: Ulster paid price for their Celtic League win

For the record and at the outset - I like JH and what he has done for UR. But: You got paid an enormous amount of money under contract - every day, did you earn your pay? This season - for sure you did not. You make suggestions about the reasons leading to the fall of Mark McCall. You know; we know ...

Re: Guinness Ulster Rugby Award Nominees

The awrd is for Ulster Player of the Year - over the course of the season, it has to be either Tommy or Matt. Both have been consistent top performers all season long. Rory missed large chunks of the season - but he certainly has been consistently good whn playing. I hope Pollock gets the Young Play...

Silly thought - how many of this team will make the starting line up next season ...... 4 at the most is my guess.

Re: Ulster v Connacht live

Glad we agree one Matt being one of our most consistent performers this season. I would say he has been our most consistent, but nobody has to agree with me on that. The lad had a mare of a season last year; I'm just delighted for him that he is back to his foraging, beligerent, ground hog best. I h...

Neil F - you have been carrying that chip around for too long ......... Steve Williams kept picking him; Matt Williams keeps picking him; and all you want to do is nit pick about him.

Re: Squad(s) v Connacht

We pick a team that goes out hard from the kick off; smashes into Connaught and keeps on smashing them. And if the game is not won by half time, then god help us.

Re: Team for the O's and Rationale

Did not see the Munster game, so am not in a position to comment on performances. But, if some were as bad as posters are saying, then Matt Williams should by now have delivered a very large broadside to the squad. 2 great games, 1 bad performance - honeymoon time for MW is largely over. The players...
