Re: Heineken Cup 2020/21

So Rounds 3 and 4 won’t be played. It will be (mildly) interesting to see what they’ll do. Presumably put the top 8 from each pool in the knockouts. That could mean that the 9th placed teams (yes, I’m afraid so.....) join the Parker Pen to make up a 16. Yup Ulster and Connacht in Parker Pen. In Hei...

Re: Futureproofing after Marcell

D’oh. I had forgotten about Timoney.

Like Jones has done well recently, but not sure he is at the European level.

Re: Futureproofing after Marcell

The issues at lock in Europe were as a result of having 3 of the 4 frontline options unavailable, although the younger o’connor brother did a pretty decent job stepping in, in fairness. Backrow is a different issue, Ulster have 3 European standard operators, including the future Bulls player (Jordi ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

Would have rather seen Alby going down instead of Wee Dave but if he has been producing in training well he deserves the reward! SUFTUM Can only have two foreigners in a squad. Carter and Faddes. Thanks KOTH I should have known! PS Go on give us a wee hint of who we’re getting lol No worries. It’s ...

Re: Leinster v ULSTER MoTM?

Jordi for me last week and Jordi again this week. He was superb against a top backrow. Shame his no.8 was so poor alongside him

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

No tries in almost 2 full games against Leinster now. Ulster will not beat them like that. Never really looked like scoring tonight.
Coetzee looked more like a current Bulls player tonight than a future one.
Jordi Murphy was excellent again

Joy and that commentator, not sure which one I'm disliking the most so far
Liam Tolland... loves Jahnny like a dog loves his master
He is annoying. Then again I imagine some of the ulster pundits are no better the other way

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

Ulster have dominated possession.. can't see where a try is coming from though whereas Leinster look threatening. Long way to go.

Jordi and Jones have done very well in the backrow. The future Bulls player is trying to minimise his game time before his new contract

Re: UAFC First XV

Can't believe two of my usernames made the squad. Strangely two of mine have appeared also - one in the team of 15 years ago, and once in the current XV. As I've had two incarnations with the same name * ( cap'n grumpy circa 2008 & cap'n grumpy circa 2005), I'm claiming that. :D * Apparently after ...

Re: UAFC First XV

Some suggestions for the bench or finishers as the lovely Eddie likes to call them. LH - Cornerfleg : Fulfilling the Andy Warwick role in that you can easily forget that he is still around but then pops up with a useful contribution. Hooker - Cockatrice : Deadly accurate at lineout time after years ...

Re: UAFC First XV

Good job KOTH is in the backs, as if he was calling the lineouts the calls would be too cryptic even for his team mates!

Re: Leinster v Ulster Fri Jan 8th 7:35pm KO

Ulster's only win at the RDS since 2000 was in the 2012/13 season when infamously Clownshoes blew the final whistle and then did a TMO check...... The 2nd string had a surprise win at Thomond in 2014. Indeed they did vs Munster. Wasn't there also a win at Munster yonks ago under Matt William's I th...
