Re: Rainbow Cup

Leinster are on the beach enjoying their summer hols regardless of what the names on the team sheet say. Same old story against Leinster though. Ulster cannot breach the defence and take chances. Doak will be better for that run out in a tight game against good opposition. When did Ringrose last ass...

Re: Lions 2021

Cave always claims it he was taken out of context by the D4 meeja as he was having a pop at them. He phoned Joe to clear things up. It didn't change things. The one thing I never understood was why Joe took him to the world cup in 2015 and then didnt play him when the centres got injured. If he was...

Re: Rainbow Cup

The pack a couple of years earlier was arguably better. It had peak Afoa, a fit Ferris (he hardly played during the Anscombe reign) and Wannenburg. I'd take Ferris and Wannenburg in 2012 form over Wilson and Big Nock as a 6/8 combination. I don't remember Wilson being that good after he returned fro...

Re: Lions 2021

Sinckler didn’t suggest there was anything “unfair” in his non selection and had the good grace to wish those picked all the best.He has missed out on what for players remains the biggest accolade in terms of selection and what he described as the best experience of his life in 2017......minus the a...

Re: Injury Update

Disappointed for Marcus Rea if he misses a few games.

He has been decent in each of the few games he has played and 2 of them were against leinster and munster.

Re: Lions 2021

Most people would have had him in their expected squad. He’s rightly disappointed and emotional and was just very open and honest about how he is trying to deal with the disappointment. Nothing wrong with that. Whether people think he should have been picked or not I see nothing wrong with this inte...

Re: Ulster in the Challenge Cup

There are 2 trophies available to ulster in any season. To win one you have to be consistently better than leinster as well as beating them in a one off game, and in the other you again need to beat possibly leinster and the best of England and France. A bit of realism from the pundits and fans is ...

Re: Lions 2021

Henderson will know the value of starting the tour well this time around. Very difficult to make up for a poor game on such a short tour.

Plus he won’t have Rory best, Marler and Haskell taking him out for pints every night.

Re: Lions 2021

Ryan, Sexton and Ringrose would never get dropped for Ireland. Once you are an Irish liggind in the eyes of some you can never get dropped. No bad thing for Leinster and Ireland. Ryan and Ringrose are quality players who have been far from their best. This will get them working hard and motivated fo...

Re: Ulster in the Challenge Cup

Read that. Always feels like he has to be hard hitting. Tom O'Toole has a lot to work on of course - he'll know himself he isn't even 1st choice for ulster but widely acknowledged as having a lot of potential. Why not encourage the guy than just blast him, when he came through the Academy. Somewhat ...

Re: Lions 2021

The Dublin media now think Sexton, Ryan and Ringrose could potentially miss out, with Henderson and Healy seen as more likely tourists behind Murray henshaw Beirne and furlong.

Probably only dawned on them now as reputation counts for everything in irish rugby, especially what you did 3 years ago.

Re: Lions 2021

The Southern media love mocking the english and welsh journos for their selections citing lack of recent form, but still see Ringrose and Ryan as nailed on tourists and possible starters. Both are fine players but whilst partly injury related, neither has set the world on fire recently and a case co...

Re: Lions 2021

To be honest I can see some logic to Kelleher making it. He won't start but could be a decent impact option off the bench.

I'd have Herring starting for Ireland but wouldn't take him on this tour as he wont be a starter and kelleher better bench option.
