Re: Toulouse v Ulster Heineken QF

So who do you think will be in the starting XV this Sunday?

Will Cooney be back as starting scrum half? Will Marcel overcome his injury niggles? Will Burn's be dropped for his intercept pass? Will we opt for the more experienced props from the start?

Or is it the same team as Saturday at the Aviva?

Ulster are not as good as we would like them to be but not as bad as some think.
This sums up my feelings well Rum. We played well in patches and were unlucky with the interception try - but Leinster are a much better side and have an amazing array of talent at their disposal.

Dare I say, the Ulster bench looks stronger.

Re: Pro 14 Final vs Leinster, Sept 12th.

Some interesting selections here: Mathewson for Cooney, Lowry at full back and two back row replacements. Plus Hendo coming back.

McFarland must have a plan for Leinster! Can't wait.

I agree with Spence and Cave in the centre - it could be a good combination with Cave at 12.

Re: Ulster v Ospreys Live

Great result ....... and we could have won by more. But well done NOC for getting the pressure kick towards the end. I think we deserved the victory - but only just! Did anyone else think that the Ospreys play the breakdown like the All Blacks - bodies all over the place? Just shows the influence of...

This was my first look at D'arcy and I thought he was pretty good, but I think Jamie Smith (on last years performances) just shades it.

They will be good competition for each other.

I'm pleased it's not on TV. Our team is looking very inexperienced and Harlequins put 40 on Connacht :(

I suppose it depends on the team Harlequins put out.

Re: Bath match

That's a very strong team Bath are fielding and as it's their second pre-season game they should less rusty than Ulster.

It looks like Bath are out to put down a strong marker for the Heineken Cup games

This will be a big test for our team - it will be interesting to see how they respond.

Muller to Captain. Big pack and a young back line. Should be an interesting evening. New signing Johann Muller will captain Ulster this Friday night when they take on Bath at Ravenhill, KO 7.30pm... Share This Friday night will give Ulster supporters plenty of opportunity to see the club's new signi...

Re: Wannenburg In - Rush Out - Confirmation

I think the fact they they know each other is a benefit rather than a concern and I can see BJ being a "big brother" figure by showing them round the province and helping them settle in. For all its faults, our province is generally a very friendly place and they should have no trouble settling in. ...

Re: Ruan becomes an Ulsterman

Watching his distribution and kicking skills yesterday, the though of a Pienaar, iHumph Wallace axis makes get a weeee bit excited. If our forwards front up and we get another BIG ball carrier in the back row we could, we could, be a very exciting proposition next year. As my cousin in Tokyo says "...
