Re: Stephen Ferris, and why Ulster Rugby need to up their game

Spot on about the lack of local talent Neil though there are some good prospects coming through out the backs. Wether it's because of a few poor seasons or just relief at having any prospects that can put one foot in front of the other we have seriously overhyped the likes of Cave,Pollock,Caldwell a...

Re: Richard Hill to be appointed

Agree 100% with Humph/Doak/Davidson - the guys know the local game inside out and don't take any crap. May attract some investors with Humph at the helm which can only be good. Suspect that more than the coach will change come the day as it's time for a clean sweep and a fresh approach. But there's ...

Re: ulster miss out yet again!

Thanks for letting me know but you don't seem to be saying much different from what was inferred in my post.

Personal insults are the mark of a small mind. Try reading between the lines of "mutual consent" and the original post that Gerry was commenting on.

Re: ulster miss out yet again!

Thank you Captain. I miss the darkside,it's gang warfare over here. Feeling sad and alone, where's Fokbaik when you need him? You're welcome! (Are you suggesting that we need Fokbaik as our replacement coach?) Hadn't thought of it in those terms Captain but now you mention it,maybe someone with such...

Re: ulster miss out yet again!

As a lifelong fan i have to agree with Fuzzy in respect of working on a dream, easily his worst ever album. Magic and The Rising were great though so all is not lost. Darkness on the edge of town comes out top for me. Anyway it's all off topic unless we missed out on signing up the E Street Band for ...

Re: ulster miss out yet again!

You only have to look at the squad to know something is not right and there's no leadership - i wonder how much our collapse had an affect on Best's chances with the Lions and how much it has affected him. I would be stunned if he and Ferris were with us much longer. If Best were at Leinster or Mun...

I see where you're going Cables - point taken but as your favourite singer Mr Springsteen would say " It's hard to be a saint in the city". :thumleft:

Re: ulster miss out yet again!

Thank you RHH,it seems that a season of underachievement has made us all a bit tetchy. We all call things as we see them, some more eloquently than others but i'll be back on the prom next year hoping for better things. Still think an awful lot will change over the summer. We all have people in the k...

Re: ulster miss out yet again!

Caldwell has consistently underperformed this season and has no go forward in him at the moment,he doesn't punch his weight if you'll excuse the pun. A lot of people hype him up here but he's nothing special and i'd prefer Matt in the second row if we had enough line out options. Hopefully JD will b...

Re: ulster miss out yet again!

That stirred it up a bit! I've been watching rugby at all levels in Ulster for 30+ years now and played a bit. I don't claim to be any technical expert like most of you,i simply comment on what i see before me. I don't set out to wind anybody up but like all of the rose tinteds i'm entitled to my op...

Re: Joke of the Day

Doh!

Story of my life - nothing original to say.

Should have gone to Specsavers. Apologies Captain (in my somewhat flimsy defence it was a different thread)
