Re: Bluenoses vs Ulster

I tend to luv flegs, and fleg debates. Not sure yet what fleg(s) I am waving on Saturday for the Racing 92 game but may dig out Toulouse one. Unfortunately my nephew in London has my Clermont fleg (which he waves at the occasional demonstation in London :) ) On a vaguely serious point by & larg...

Re: Bluenoses vs Ulster

Bottom line is, most of us are Norm. That's why they're like hen's teeth these days. It's representative of a failed sectarian state, nothing else. And yet the union flag is preferable ? Considering some of the worldwide ructions caused by those who have flown it I find that odd. Every flag embodie...

Re: Bluenoses vs Ulster

Can't disagree with any of this. The dodgy attacking lineout seems to be part of a bigger dodgy attack, full stop. Only Dragons and Zebre have scored fewer tries (Kings have scored two fewer but they have two matches in hand). We have only two Try bonus points; only Dragons have fewer. The three te...

Has Herbst ever completed 80 minutes for Ulster? Not sure why he went off at halftime on Saturday but I honestly can't remember the last time I saw him play and not go off injured.

Re: Bluenoses vs Ulster

I think one key example is how often Ulster have an attacking line out in a good position; balls up the line out; then make it easy for the opposing team to shift the ball out of defence. As a fan, it's hugely demoralising to see a promising attacking platform turned into a dangerous defensive one ...

Re: Bluenoses vs Ulster

As 9 says, a lot of sense being talked on this thread. We knew this wasn't going to be a good season and the next few will probably not be much better; a few great wins, a few grim defeats. Let's just keep cool, enjoy the good bits; put up with the bad. We'll see how things turn out under the new r...

Re: Tom Court

Wasn’t he NEARLY as bad as the Hond when he first came over to us and then we farmed him out to someone like pertemps Bees (whoever they were?)? Maybe there is hope for the Hond yet. Bit harsh. When Court arrived at Ulster, he'd only been a rugby player for about eighteen months. The Hond, on the o...

Re: Gibbes away

On the plus side, there is now literally no excuse for a complete overhaul of coaching and management structures at all levels of the organisation. But I'm sure those who have the say will find one, nonetheless. Soper would be the right man. Not convinced, King. Soper has done impressive things and ...

Re: Should Gibbs and Peel Go if:

At some point, Ulster need a meaningful review of the entire coaching structure. Not in terms of the long worn out jobs description discussion; but more in terms of the structure of the team and how they work together. For at least ten years, Ulster have suffered a cycle of a head coach / director o...

Re: Where roughly is the Olympic Torch now mate?

Wouldn't be the Winter Olympics without a Brit fecking up the speed skating. [emoji38] It would be tragic if anybody gave a flying f*ck. [emoji38] The Aussies have it sussed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAADWfJO2qM Not surprising, since the Brits don't commute to work by skates every day like t...

Re: Wasps Vs Ulster Sun 21/01/18 BT Sport

Treadwell's best game was at home to Connacht. He steamrolled Aki and a few others. He hasn't been consistent enough and will continue to bench behind AOC and Hendo. You simply couldn't drop anyone in the backrow right now. When Ireland's best backrow comes up next season Hendo will likely remain i...

Re: Video Replays 2017/2018

I just watched the short highlights on Sky website and I am becoming more convinced that not only was the yellow card lucky but I'm suspecting that Charles did a Goode and not only milked it but may well have done him up like a kipper . In some ways, it was fortunate; but I don't think anyone could...

Re: FOLK

Bizarre tackle technique by Gilroy. Seemed more to me a bizarre pulling out of the tackle technique, to me. Got the feeling that Gilroy knew the game was going back for the penalty, so for some reason stood upright, didn't use his arms but for some reason, still made contact... Refereeing on outcom...

Re: FOLK

Yeah the player that was involved in the collison, however the other La Rochelle player was ready to rip Gilroy a new one and had to be pushed away by the UR physios. Nothing screams "class" like a player arriving late to physically confront an opponent already being seen to by a doctor.....
